Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall

In advance, I'm sorry if there is another thread on this...I couldn't find it after scrolling back a year through the forum - twice. But we need to start talking about this shit simple as that...

First off....Jim F'n Carrey just joined the cast last week..

Personally, I love what Matthew Vaughn did with the original and I'm sad to see he's not returning behind the camera - but I am excited to see what they come up with for a sequel....here's a 7 minute interview with the director:

I, myself, am quite stoked for this! Loved the first one and the fact that they wrangled Carrey for this. Yes please!

Kick Ass was a pretty enjoyable movie. After rewatching it I'd give it a solid 8/10

Its just a shame that Matthew Vaughn isnt directing this. He brought a unique style to the film and I think it'll be sorely missed in the sequel.

Nobody puts Daddy in the corner.

Jeff Wadlow, the director of Kick-Ass 2, is making a habit of tweeting many behind-the-scenes photos from the upcoming film. Earlier today, he showed off the model of one of their sets and just now he posted this** photo with the caption, "Nobody puts Daddy in the corner".

like the title says. Hit-Girl was credited on IMDB

Chloë Grace Moretz ... Mindy Macready / Hit-Girl

The listing is above Nicolas Cages' which is right across from imdb's "promotional" section which appears on the left side of the page.

The first one was a lot of fun and simply looking at the cast, this one looks like it's headed in the same direction.

Looking forward to seeing this.

I actually worked with Jeff Wadlow on Never Back Down (I was a bouncer and a Referee at the Beat Down) and the dude was super nice and super down to earth and it was awesome working those long ass hours with him heading up the show.

So I am glad to see him behind the lens on a higher profile movie like this.

The first one is amazing, a movie I can watch once a year, maybe more... so I eagerly anticipate this sequel, and I am very glad it is getting made, as it didnt seem it would considering the 1st movies lackluster box office. The fact that Jim Carrey is in it is just icing!

Hopefully the box office for this is good, but when you have a 1st movie that under-performs, the second in that series has its work cut out for it!

I'm not sure how closely the first one followed the comic but....
Spoiler:
I heard that nick cage might be back for this... Anyone know how that would work?

Same, I just saw the first one yesterday and had a great time with it so I am definitely on board for the sequel, plus I am a huge fan of Jim Carrey so I think he will be great in this.

I hope they don't hold back on the violence...there are some pretty epic scenes in the comic , specially one involving a dog's head.

'Kick-Ass 2' gets a new release date

Jeff Wadlow's Kick-Ass 2, finally, will move from June 28 to August 16.

Kick-Ass 2, finally, has Aaron Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse reprising their roles from 2010’s Kick-Ass. Based on the comic by Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr., the sequel co-stars Morris Chestnut, John Leguizamo and Donald Faison. It is produced by Matthew Vaughn, Tarquin Pack, Adam Bohling, David Reid and Brad Pitt.

Vaughn's presence is definitely missed, as this sequel looks like it lacks the visual flair and energy that was so crucial to the original. Carrey and the outlandish violence might make it a fun time, but I'm skeptical for now.

Jim Carrey really is the main reason I am looking forward to this and he delivered in the couple of clips in this trailer. Yeah, there's a dog on your balls.

I was already anticipating this flick, but that trailer makes it my most anticipated for this year... this summers movies dont really have me feeling like I need to rush to the theaters, with the exception of Iron man 2 and from what i am hearing Man of Steel... but this movie is going to be amazing!

This doesn't look half as fun as the first one, but it looks okay. I think I'm gonna miss Nicolas Cage's presence. He really brought a lot to the first movie. Seeing Hit Girl kick ass still amuses though.

Excellent point, they are handing the keys to the Mercedes over to a teenager. The guy has done nothing, written nothing nor directed nothing other than a little bit of TV. So I figure its got about 70-30 odds now. 70% chance it will suck, 30% chance this Jeff Wadlow guy hits a home run.

I was extremely excited for this, Kick Ass being among my top 10 of 2010. But now that I see a rookie is taking over as writer and director I will definitely wait for feedback and reviews. What a shame, I sincerely hope Wadlow nails it but I have serious doubts now.
