Upcoming Big-Budget Film Adaptation of Slender Man!

There's a campaign on IndieGogo up and running to raise funding for a teaser trailer for the film: http://www.indiegogo.com/slendermanteaser.

Also, a Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Sl...22152261133399.

SYNOPSIS:

The film tells the story of a tormented young man battling a troubled past of mental illness, causing a life-changing drug addiction and prison experience. He visits his childhood home to take care of his ill mother while his negligent stepfather leaves town on business, where he once again begins to suffer vivid nightmares and hallucinations about a terrifying figure called "The Slender Man" as well as unexplainable bouts of memory loss. After discovering clues linking his father's disappearance to the Slender Man, he finds himself becoming part of a mysterious ancient puzzle orchestrated by the Slender Man himself.

Uh, no thanks. This meme turned into a joke and now this is going way overboard. Besides, we already got the Slender Man movie last year. The Tall Man.

Ugh, I hate the "cursed bloodline" gimmick. Did that really need to be thrown into something as simplistic as Slender Man?

"The Tall Man" has nothing to do with the Slender Man. The film's creator was asked and he claimed there is no relation. Also, the film's story follows a very different story than that typically seen in the Slender Man universe.

The film is coming, one way or the other, and the projected budget is to be in the $250,000 - $500,000 range. Therefore, for an independent horror film, "big budget" is a very accurate description.

There is nothing "simplistic" about the mythology of Slender Man. This film is based on the vast and growing Mythos established by popular video series such as MarbleHornets, EverymanHYBRID, TribeTwelve, etc. It has nothing to do with the very simplistic video game, "Slender".

The story of Slender Man, the film especially, is deep and far-reaching.

SAG considers low budget independent films to be $2.5million. Ultra-low Budget is $200,000. It is very misleading to call a $500,000 film "Big Budget".
