Looks like Jonah's putting back the weight for this. Then again, I'd bet he'd eat himself into a heart attack for Scorsese.

Love the McConaughey still, reminiscent of a younger Christopher Walken. Ever since his unreal turn in Killer Joe, the guy's been growing on me big time.

Apparently this is released November 15th, putting it against Ridley Scott's The Counselor. If this turns out to be true I am not sure its a great idea.

Trailer will be online at 12AM PST. Can't wait to see what Scorsese has in store for us. I have a feeling it will be his best film since The Departed. Just by reading the book, I can tell that it's going to have the kind of energy that the best Scorsese films have.

Maybe I'm in the minority but, although I still need to see Mean Streets and Taxi Driver, but even if those movies are the masterpieces that everyone claims them to be, I would still say that I personally think Scorsese is doing some of his finest work the past 10-15 years. Bringing Out the Dead, Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island and Hugo are all near masterpieces. He's one of the most exciting filmmakers to watch, still, even after these years.

The 90's were probably great for him as well. I just haven't seen much of it. A part from Bringing Out the Dead and Goodfellas. Still need to see The Age of Innocence and Kundun.

Can't wait to see the trailer for this movie.

Same the book was phenomenal and I can't wait to see what Scorsese has done. He is definitely one of my favorite directors so consider me pumped.

Wasn't expecting such a colorful MTV vibe, rap music on top of it and breaking the fourth wall is dangerous territory for me BUT

I can't stop thinking about it. The performances look stellar and looks like there's more than enough drama to balance out the comedic quirkiness.

So stoked for this one.

Yeah I thought the Kanye West song worked surprisingly well here (unlike the Jay Z song in The Great Gatsby trailer). The Kanye sound song packed a lot of energy and got me even more pumped for this film.

I'm really exited about this one as well, Scorsese seems to be having a ball and the whole cast looks to be in top form. The only thing that makes me a little hesitant about it is the sense that in terms of style and story, it pretty much looks like another rendition of Goodfellas and I'd hate to see Marty's style grow redundant (he already exercised it further and arguably perfected it with Casino). I hope I'm wrong and either way I'll still be there opening night.

He certainly did.

Jonah Hill looks like he might be a scene stealer. That accent is fucking glorious.

What I love about it the most, judging from the trailer, is how much it doesn't look and feel like a Scorsese film. He has really become more and more versatile over the years.

First time I saw the trailer I didn't like it. But then I saw it again when I went to go see World War Z and it's grown on me. Maybe I was initially turned off by the fact that it looks sillier and much more overtly comedic than anything Scorsese has done in the past. It just looked strange to me. If this trailer is accurate in terms of what the movie's tone is gonna be, I don't think it'll be anywhere near close to being my favorite Scorsese movie, but it looks fun enough.

Oh I assure you it wont be "silly" at all. Sure there are a number of funny moments but its basically about a complete asshole that lives to excess and pays the price for it.

I'm just hoping Leo gets nominated for an Oscar cause it looks like nailed the role of Jordan Belfort.

Things could get really interesting this year cause McCounghey could be up for an Oscar nom for Dallas Buyers Club and his costar Leo could be up for an Oscar nom for The Wolf of Wallstreet. Or at least thats what I'm hoping. May the best man win!

I'm wondering what the soundtrack is gonna be like. Scorsese has great taste in music so I'm sure we're in for a treat. I'm trying to think of some good 90s tunes that would work for this

There's a rumor that Wolf of Wall Street is going to be delayed and they are hoping to make it by Christmas, if not it will not be released until some time until 2014. Apparently at this point the it is over 3 hours long and would be rated NC-17. However, this is nothing official as of yet.

Did not hear about the NC-17 part. But I did read that this is being delayed till Christmas or 2014 as Scorsese is trying to cut down the running length to a "manageable" time.

Doesn't Scorsese always seem to have this problem? I remember that Scorsese had to cut down Gangs of New York from over 3 hours to 2 hours and 40 minutes. And while that was still a great movie, the cutting down on the length was actually noticeable. There was some choppy editing in the first 30 or so minutes of that movie. Here's hoping the editing process is more smooth this time and they get it done in time for a christmas release. It would suck if this ended up being another Shutter Island (suppose to come in October/November but then gets bumped to February!).

Word is that it's around 220 minutes right now and Scorsese is unsure of what to cut. The financiers want it out this year, and Paramount is indifferent as they have some room to manoeuvre with their releases. I would obviously like him to have as much time as he needs to get it right, but fuck me if this gets delayed until 2014. I know Marty always takes a while with the editing process, but I feel like a bump to Christmas would give him sufficient time to finish it. If he already has a cut that he likes, does he really need 3 more months?

On the bright side, this lengthy runtime and Scorsese's uncertainty of what to cut makes me feel like this is going to be the epic crime drama that I envisioned after I read the book.

Agree with everything you said Bourne. I would shit a brick if this film got delayed until 2014

Lets hope it just gets pushed back towards XMas or December.

Also having read the book, I'm not surprised at the length really. I hope we do get a long (possibly as long as Gangs of New York) type of Scorsese film here.

As far as cutting it down to just 2 hours, I hope Scorsese doesn't give in.

You can't give in Scorsese! YOU CAN"T GIVE IN!!!

Terrific news. December is absolutely packed. This also shakes up the awards race a bit. The bloggers were getting a little too comfortable with their early predictions, but this changes things. I don't give a shit if the film contains Leonardo DiCaprio flying a helicopter on coke and quaaludes, or throwing midgets at targets... it will be a contender. I think it will be Scorsese's best since The Departed.

Outstanding news! For a second I was really worried that they would scrap it for 2014.

THIS is my Christmas present
