BATMAN: HUSH in one sitting.
I hadn't read it in almost ten years and forgot why I was turned off near the end. Then I realized over the last three issues my issues with it. Excellent story, amazing art, but those red herrings after red herrings after - you get it - was terrible, and the whole plot is convoluted with nearly indiscernable twists and outrageous stupidity. The ride up to that point is great, though. |

INCOGNITO - 7/10
Pretty good. Not GREAT, but I liked it. BATMAN: COURT OF OWLS Vol. 1 - 8.5/10 Excellent shit. I'm pissed I have to wait until March for the next volume to get released. Also, the art got beautiful near the end in the labyrinth. With that fight, it was visceral and gritty. Outstanding. CRIMINAL: Volume 1 - 7/10 I liked this a little more than INCOGNITO. I just started the first few pages of volume 2. Not sure when I'll be done, but I'm looking forward to it. |

"Avengers Arena is an ongoing comic book series published by Marvel Comics that is scheduled to debut in December 2012, as part of the Marvel NOW! imprint. The series will see 16 young heroes from the Marvel Universe and pit them against each other in a kill-or-be-killed, reality-show-like scenario on Murderworld run by Arcade"
Yes, it clearly is trying for the Hunger Games crowd but, damn, they are pulling it off. They actually gave old X-Men foe Arcade some balls as well. ![]() I have to say that I'm enjoying this series so far. It truly packs a punch and appears to be done not for the sake of sensationalism. Adding true depth, emotion and serious consequences to any book is sorely needed at this juncture for Marvel. Revolving door deaths deflate any depth or impact and I'm sick of it. Whatever happens, I hope everyone STAYS dead even though I do like quite a few of these characters. It's time to put the teeth back in the stories and have true impact to certain resolutions. As an older fan, I'm truly pulling for Darkhawk and would be upset if he loses. Still, it's good to fear for the loss of a character instead of yawning and saying "he'll be back within 24 issues." |

![]() This book probably could have benefited from a shorter length, it does kind of get bogged down with too many characters and a slow middle. It was still an entertaining read. I really do not know if I'll continue with the rest of the series. 7/10 |

Mulligan Stew - 8/10
My eyes glazed over during the 30 page "play" portion. Otherwise, my first taste of Sorrentino was a positive one. |
