Archer returns tonight for a 3 episode arc, which will serve as the technical multi-part finale of season 2.

Season 3 will start in January for 13 eps.

They hit upon about the only way they could up the cool quotient for this show: a guest star role for Patrick Warburton.

I love Lana's description of Archer as "Highly skilled...ish."

Archer had an amazing third season, for those that care...

The AV Club says it may be the best comedy on tv, and it'd be hard for me not to agree with 'em....

The bottle thing from The Warriors killed me.

Good end to a great season. The Burt Reynolds episode ("I thought that was Richard Petty...") and Ray's trip back home (Michael fuckin' Rooker!!) were both beyond classic.

Rewatching season 3, just realized that Ricky from Trailer Park Boys is in episode 3 and Michael Rooker is in episode 6

I caught on to that being Rooker pretty quickly. That guy is always a good addition, to anything.

Oh yeah, they announced it on their facebook page like months ago. The pleasure centers of my brain were doing backflips for a while.

Also, the fugue state has to be a reference to Breaking Bad.

The whole thing was just golden.

For some reason, that last "...Said your mother..." really fractured me.

Does anyone else really wish they'd make an Archer movie? These episodes are so good that a twenty minute clip never feels like enough.

Anyone else noticing that the writers/editors have seemed to tighten up the rhythm of the jokes this season?

That's to force me to watch it at least twice so I can catch the stuff I miss while laughing during the first run.

Archer character models

Fun note: Krieger looks EXACTLY like a guy I worked with at a former job. And funny thing is he also worked locked away in a room making stuff in secret. And somehow, 4 seasons in I have still neglected to inform him of this.

God I love this show. I think this whole season is just prepping us for a huge cyborg showdown in the finale.

Anyway, the more I think about it the more I think Midnight Ron may be my favorite episode so far of the whole series (either it or the episode that takes place on the train to Canada). This series is definitely not letting up with time.

In an episode full of terrific verbal comedy (I'm glad to know Archer is well versed in NFL historical trivia), I swear that the look he gave Lana after the "surveillance" exchange made me laugh harder than anything else.

For me, it was this:

I need to make a gif of that pronto.

Also I gotta say its reeeeeally becoming more and more evident how much FX keeps upping the budget each season on the show (Season 2's Jeu Monegasque for one and they got to add "FX Presents" this season in the the opening credits to name a few). The animation direction for the scene where Lana and Archer are falling off the side of the hotel (mua!) C'est magnifique.

Pam doing the Fat Albert voice for Lana was hysterical, too. The writing for this show is just tight as a drum.

Lana: "I'm coming, Cyril."

Archer: "Bet ya never said that before..."
