every studio wants a piece of the Twilight Franchise, so they are always looking at books, I.E. Hunger Games, Beautiful Creatures, Mortal Instruments.

or in the case of Harry Potter. Percy Jackson, ETC

its part of the hollywood problem. if a movie does well, it should automatically merrit either a Sequel or prequel and if people like the story or genre, they beat it to death.

Is it possible that The Conjuring could move from 10/15 since Pacific Rim is confirmed for 10/15?

Also, it was mentioned that Despicable Me 2 may be released on 12/17. Any word on that?

Also wondering about The To Do List, In a World... and Turbo.

Again, thanks for all the dates.

Well The Conjuring was only Rumored for October to begin with, and a couple dates were thrown here and there. but to be honest, With August coming to an end. this would be the final week of announcements for October. baring possibly "Your Next" which I have been told is streeting in late October. It is Possible that The Conjuring will street in Early November.

The To Do List is also Rumored for Early November. but my sources have targeted it closer to Thanksgiving.

In a World, I have nothing on, I will research

Turbo another film rumored for Early Nov, Probably again Closer to Thanksgiving

Any word on "Ain't Them Bodies Saints"?

I know it had a short run at the theater, but I'm not sure how long it will take to hit DVD.

Look at my profile picture [above] to see the Bluray art for the US.

From what ive heard, Pacific Rim might come barebones and I've also heard
that the first simpments [only] of the 3D bluray and bluray will have 3d slipcovers. After that..they will not.

I sure hope Pacific Rim isn't barebones. What are they trying to do? Are they going to use the sale of the barebones discs to gauge interest in a sequel? Then they'll turn around and release a better bluray version? If true that's a major disappointment.
Look what they did with Star Trek Into Darkness spreading all the special features over exclusives with BB and Target. Not to mention 3D prices have gone up $5, so the sales price is $29.99 and not $24.99.

The Conjuring
Best Buy.ca [Canada]: Bluray & DVD
Release Date: October 22nd [NEW DATE?]

Walmart.ca says that the October 15th date is final .

If Best Buy Canada's date is true then that would mean the date shifted by a week.
I still have 10/15 pegged as the date. So, that is the date im sticking with. If it changes..then it changes.

Preorders for the Bluray and dvd of the new 'RIDDICK' is up on Amazon.com.
estimated date is December/January. If it is December then the logical date
would be that of 12/10 [making it go up against FAST 6].
except that its not.

you guys need to stop being fooled by amazon and dvdreleasedates.

again. RIDDICK is NOT UP FOR PREORDRE. Amazon etc are just trying to get the jump on the competition for preorders before the studio even has the opportunity to A) Make money off of it at the box office B) Starts working on the actual DVD release and starts the Transfer Process and C) Even knows what date they are releasing it on. therefore IT IS NOT UP FOR PREORDER. its just AMAZON getting you to fork over your money months and months before the date even has time to surface. My Friend at Universal told me last week. "There is a good chance, Riddick will not see Home Video Legs until Mid to Late January" and that depends on Box Office.

I am asking once again. that you stop using Amazon and dvdreleasedates to announce that a movie is up for Preorder, because its not.

here is a question for you. Yesterday they announced that Pacific Rim is now available for Preorder. weird because they announced the same thing on July 12th. you want to know why. because it wasnt announced by the Studio. it was Amazon etc jumping the gun. hoping you will once again fall for the BS Pre order

REALDVDARTIST,

I know this really chaps your hide, but you need to let this go.

If I can order it on Amazon, then, yes, it's up for pre-order. "PRE"-order. I can put it in my cart now and it will show up on my doorstep the day it's released. While there is no release date yet, I am able to order it now!

Yes, Amazon is jumping the gun, hoping you'll see or hear about the film and order it. Let's face it, they aren't going to change that: "Buy it now and get it when it comes out!"

Pre-order from a studio/manufacturer standpoint and from a retail standpoint are quite different things.

I, for one, like to pre-order everything. With Amazon, I'm guaranteed the cheapest price at any point from the pre-order phase to release day (And I've saved quite a bit sometimes by doing so) - If I'd jumped on Monsters University 3D when it was added to pre-order, I could have locked in a price of $22.49 (A price I'm sure I won't see again!). It's at 34.96 currently. And I won't pay a dime until the day it ships!

Most importantly, I have it on order! I plan on buying it! I'm purchasing product! How this can be bad is beyond me....

Just needed to throw in my two cents. This Amazon practice is clearly here to stay.

It just needs to stay off this page, thats all. I dont really care what happens outside of this page. the point i am trying to make. this page when i created it was for Unoffical announcements. Riddick has not been announced. so it doesnt need to be mentioned until we get closer to an actual date. We dont need 50+ announcements of the same film. when Riddick has a date, we can post it. we dont need to post preorders on this page. if Ruly2 or someone wants to make another thread dedicated to every single film that goes up for preorder on opening weekend. go for it

Heard anything more on the release dates for Despicable Me 2, Kick-Ass 2 or Elysium?

Also, pelase correct me if I am wrong, I am under the impression that The Lone Ranger was in 3D. Is that correct? If so is a 3D combo being released?

As always thanks for all the info. Much appreciated!

DM2 is currently rumored for around thanksgiving. so Either 19th or 26th

Kick Ass 2 is currently scheduled for Dec 10th opposite of Smurfs 2 and Percy jackson sea of monsters, plus Furious 6

Elysium from what I heard is going to street on Dec 24th, however due to trends the last two years. nothing streets on christmas eve or day. so I am thinking its going to end up on the 20th

Lone Ranger is currently not scheduled to be released at retail in 3D. A Combo pack will be released at a later date

I'm going to chime in on the Amazon thing:

Amazon is a major retailer, they are Best Buy, Walmart, target whatever of the internet, so they must have an OK to have the titles as pre-orders when they hit theaters... as for Amazon taking your money for these pre-orders... Amazon doesnt charge you a cent until what you ordered ships, and they always charge the lowest price (Which generally is lower than any retailer come release day)... it is simply a way for people to pre-order a title they like and have it on their door steps the day it is released, no muss no fuss!

I get that it annoys you that amazon does this, but in terms of RUly posting those pre-orders, I see nothing wrong with it, this is a home video release thread and RUly is letting us all know that we can pre-order the home video release of respective movies!

I never really understood why this thread always had a competition feel to it... lets just post some dates, post some cover artwork, post some links and have some fun!!

As always thanks for all the info. Much appreciated!
Lone Ranger wasn't released in theaters in 3D... I thought it was as well, but when it was released it was not in 3D, which is weird considering it is a Disney movie!

update:

Amazon Ca [Canada] dose in fact say 12/10 which would put it close
to the release date of the first movie [on bluray] AND I remember
mentioning a possible 12/17 Date
. DM1 was release on Bluray and DVD on 12/14.

This is what it say on Amazon.ca under "Product details":

Product Details
Actors: Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand, Benjamin Bratt
Format: NTSC
Studio: Universal Studios Home Entertainment
Release Date: Dec 10 2013
Run Time: 98 minutes
Skynet -Thanks for setting me straight on Lone Ranger 3D. I could have sworn that was 3D when it came out and was looking forward to getting it in 3D when it it video. Kind of weird they didn't put it in 3D, but they they probably didn't want to sink anymore money into that movie.

RealDvdArtist - thanks for the updates.

Thank you Ruly2 and Jigsaw28 for responding to the Despicable Me 2 date. Ruly2 had mentioned in a previous post that DM2 could be released 12/17/13. You would think if Fast 6, Kick-Ass 2, DM2 and possibly Riddick were all hitting in December that one of those titles would move. To me the most sense would be Despicable Me 2 at Thanksgiving like RealDVDArtist was saying.

Anyway, Amazon.ca is probably a very solid source for release dates, but they initially had The Internship releasing on October 8th only to see it move to October 22. So I thought I'd ask just to see if that changed.
