Joblo Book of the Month????

I don't think that this would bring enough interest but if there was enough, would anybody else be willing to participate in something like this?

I could be interested, but please, can you specify more what you're talking about?

He means if a few people want to read the same book at the same time and talk about it as they go through it. Some people are faster the others, so there would have to be a spoiler rule.

Then again, maybe he's not talking about that.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, it would be a group of us picking a book and then all reading it during the span of a month for example and just talking about it.

Hey, that's a pretty cool idea. We could buy the rights to the books and have stickers on them that say 'Approved by JoBlo's Book Club!'

I add to this idea... if the chosen book is able in my library, of course
I advise you too that I couldn't read any book not published in Spain...

I was gonna suggest this a while ago but figured that no-one would be willing to invest the time. It would be interesting to see if it could work. I'm willing to participate if it kicks off.

I'll put the time in.

Just a suggestion how about The Screwtape Letters by CS Lewis
for the first book?

I think if there are at least ten people interested and willing to do it then we should. We can all give suggestions and vote for the books. Ten is a good number IMO to account for people who say they will participate then not read the book.

Cool idea, SubMethod! I'd participate. It's definitely about time to boost this little forum with a thread like that.

I think there's enough people to try it out. I'll start a thread to sign up in and suggest a book. Then I'll ask Joblo to do a poll to vote for the book.

I've just finished a book and I'm looking for something else to start so I'd join!

May I nominate some titles (I haven't read them! ):

Orlando- Virginia Woolf
Schindlers Ark- Thomas Keneally
Glamorama- Brett Easton Ellis
Stupid White Men- Michael Moore
Bitten- Kerry Armstrong (not sure on author)

These are all books that I wanna read but of course, I'm not sure on my fellow schmoes' taste.

What about if we start with something light, like Terry Pratchett, and when we assented this thread go for harder works?
