South Park episode actually censored by Comedy Central

Just saw the Cartoon Wars II episode and wasn't sure if it was a joke or not. But the brief image of Mohamed was actually censored by Comedy Central.

Haha, I thought it was a friggin joke too.
Then I read that earlier this morning, and I couldn't stop lauughing.
It's very ironic considering the episode, come to think of it I think it was the point of the episode itself.

thats right, also did anyone think that the whole "you only have to get one episode pulled then the show will go off the air" was a metaphor for the whole tom cruise/scientology episode fiasco?

There's the uncensored clip. I think it was an ok decision from CC really, cant blame 'em.

The show is still friggin genius.
I agree on the censoring (just mentioning such a hot topic was freakin' risky).
And I laughed my ass off.
Bravo, South Park.

I find it hard to believe this. I was honestly 100% positive that the "Comedy Central Censorship" was part of the joke. It just fit so perfectly with the rest of the episode. Also, Mohommad has already been shown on SP a few years ago in the "Super Best Friends" episode.

Does anybody else get the feeling that Trey and Matt are gonna get A LOT deeper than they intended with these episodes? I personally love everything they've done, but I just hope nothing bad happens to them as a result of this. They could become the leaders of a anti-censorship / anti-fanaticism movement. Probably not, but that would be cool.

I loved the irony that the clip of Jesus Christ and Bush shitting on everyone is fine but Mohamed handing over a fish is not.

That was actually the point Parker and Stone were getting at. They knew that CC would censor Muhammad but not Jesus. They were pointing out the station's hypocrisy. At first, as a Christian, I was offended by the scene. But then I realized what they were doing with it.

Well, considering that even the most Fundamentalist of Christians don't threaten to blow people up when such a blasphemous image comes up, then I guess I can see Comedy Central's logic. Muslim Fundamentalists, on the other hand...

I think what Matt And Trey did was play the cards and structure an entire episode around them assuming they would get censored. Really quite brilliant.

Yeah I think it's a bunch of BS. Hell, they showed Mohamed in the "Super Best Friends" episode without censorship. Granted, this was a few years ago, but I still think Comedy Central was in on this as well.

I doubt it was something Matt and Trey did. I have been keeping up with this and I found it kind of odd. Why would they go through the trouble to actually animate the scene (as shown in the clip a few posts up) and then just block it out? Usually if they are up to something like that they make more of a joke out of it.

Am I the only one who thinks that this show and a few select other are really playing into the future of how tv will be? Stuff like The Shield and South Park are really walking on the line and as they walk on it they casually step over it to see if they get a spanking. If they dont, they know they can take a step further.

I think OZ stepped on pretty much every line imaginable already.

Then again Oz was on HBO.

I really have a hard time believing there isnt something else to this. By Muhammed being censored it only reinforced the point. It seems rather strange to be a happy accident

No way man this double episode was fuckin amazing!!

Cartman: What's the baddest thing you've ever done?

Bart Simpson: I've cut a head off a statue once...

Cartman: Wow. That's bad. I chopped a kid's parents into litte bits and made him eat them.

Just sums up how much more AWESOME South Park is than any other adult cartoon.

I didn't think it was a joke. Censoring it out sounded like something Comedy Central would do and Matt and Trey wouldn't.
