SERENITY DAY

Just read about this on another movie forum. June 23rd marks the 6 month 'versary of Serenity DVD. Any/All fans are urged to by the DVD on June 23rd to show Universal that there is a need for a continuation of the firefly/serenity series. As a fan I have the DVD, but was told to spread the news.

Well. I fucking loved Serenity but . . . "Serenity Day"?

I don't get it, I mean . . . SIX MONTH ANNIVERSARY!? OMG it's come long ways!

EDIT: Oh it's some petition to revive Firefly. Psh.

Yeah, that's a little much. Serenity Day? I liked the movie, but I don't think it warrants it's own special day. Just a shameless plug - or should I say shameful?

Good movie, great series, doesn't need it's own day though...

I must say that Ioved Serenity, but I never saw nor wanted to see the series Firefly, so I don't see a reason to have a celebration to revive it.

Of all the movies that have been released why does Serenity gets it's own day/ I would have thought we'd have a Star Wars day first.

Well I loved Serenity and Firefly to death and still don't own either of them (my Grandpa always lets me borrow them) So I'll be picking them up. I'll try to pick them up on this day but I might be a little off. I can never remember days....

I loved the movie in the theatres, but I rented it a few weeks ago and couldn't even finish it. It's a one watch wonder to me.

I never watched the show either, but for the life of me I could never figure out why Sci-Fi never picked it up after it was cancelled on Fox?

From what I gathered, Firefly was too expensive for Sci-Fi, costing up to 4 million an episode and the cast and crew of Firefly didn't want to do it at a lower budget, because it would look significantly worse on the screen.

i know that was the reason for Farscape being stopped after 4 seasons but wasnt Firefly cancelled just because it was getting poor ratings and only really getting a lot of attention after its dvd release?

mostly cuz FOX fucked around with the episodes cuz Serenity Part 1-2 was the pilot episode and FOX started with The Train Job and Serenity 1-2 was about the 7th episode shown

FOX IS THE ENEMY

Thread seems a bit more relevant now.

Got hooked on the series last week (just in time too) and finished it in a few days. Since I don't own any of the DVD paraphenalia, I'll be sure to pick up my copies of the tv show and movie this friday.
