"Best Movie Moments" Tourny [ my first ] "Varying Themes Every 3 Rounds"

Hey gang, this is my very first movie torunament here at Jo Blo's. The themes will vary from one to the next. So I hope you like it. ElderPredator inspired me. So, this is my humble entry.

Round 1

Which is the better Ray Harryhausen monster moment?

1. From Jason & The Argonauts. The massive bronze man, Talos blocking the harbour's entrance and stopping jason and his men from leaving the island. Talos picks up the Argos and destroys it, forcing the ships crew to swim to shore.

2. From Clash Of The Titans. The last of titans, the Kraken is about to claim Andromeda as a sacrifice. Then Perseus flys in astride Pegasus to stop the Kraken with Medusa's head. The rest is written in stone [pun intended]

TALOS.

One of Harry's finest creations. That sequence scared me as a child too.

Agreed, and It still scares me, dude. Imagine an updated Talos. Seems that Clash is the mort popular moment.

Round 2

Next up is yet another RH theme. Which was the better and more memorable RH monster battle?

1. The Golden Voyage of Sinbad. The mythical Centaur takes on the Griffin in front of the fountain of destiny. A clasic good vs Evil theme.

2. Sinbad & The Eye of the Tiger. The Troglodyte battles the Sabretooth Tiger [zenobia] in the temple of the Aramaspi [spelling]

The Gryphon and the Centaur. I wanted the Gryphon to win, I thought it was badass yet also adorable. I wanted to throttle that one eyed S.O.B.

Yeah, I felt much the same way. The Centaur represented the side of evil, and the Gryphon represented the side of good. Then the sorcorer,Koura had to mame him so the Centaur could win. Because the Gryphon was actually winning just before that. Round 2 was pretty close, a draw infact, but I'm going to tip the scales in favour of Eye of the Tiger. So the final score is; Eye of the Tiger/6 - Golden Voyage/5.

Round 3;

This is the last round with the Ray Harryhausen theme, and for something different, I have posted 3 videos. This will be a three way battle for first spot. The theme is which is the "Best Ray Harryhausen monster battle against humans" Please watch the below 3 vids if any of you need a memory refresh. I uploaded these myself for this Tourny.

Please click the below links

1] Clash of the Titans - Perseus and his soldiers battle Dioskilos

2] The Golden Voyage - Sinbad and his crew fight the statue, Kali

3] Jason & The Argonauts - Jason and his men versus the Skeletons

Thanks for playing, peeps. Next up in my "Cool Movie Moments" tourney will be... just wait n see.

Wow, this is a tough one. They are all great classic moments but I have to go with The Golden Voyage for that great fight with the the 6 armed Kali. Great stuff!

Yeah, that scene was equally impressive, Kali looks like she is actually ENJOYING this, despite her stony (ha ha ha) expression.

But I'm still sticking with Jason.
