New MEGAN FOX Interview!!!!!!!!! (BIG SPOILERS)
New Megan Fox Interview from "Xtra Large" Magazine (a hip hop mag here in Los Angeles)
![]() "MAKING IT BIG" By Alexander Phelps It's a hot, and I mean scorching hot day, in Southern California. A slim young brunette wearing skin tight blue jeans that just barely reach what most girls call a waist and a pink tube top that ties together in the front to support her ample cleavage is about to run through a street crowded with cars and gun fire and explosions rigged to explode along her path. By the way, there's a giant robot standing right behind her trying to kill her. This would make most young women shake in fear, but for Megan Fox, it's the opportunity she has been waiting a life time for. FROM TV TO MOVIES Actress Megan Fox began as a TV actress and due to her looks and demeanor, became quickly type cast as the precocious slutty girl next door on sitcomes such as Two & a Half Men, 8 Simple Rules, What I Like About You, and The Help. Her longest gig was a recurring role on the ABC show Hope & Faith, but when that show was cancelled in 2004, Fox had little hopes. "That's when I got the call from Paramount to audition for some action movie. I was like, ok whatever, I'll try it. The rest is history." WELCOME TO A MICHAEL BAY SET It's not just any 106 degree day in Los Angeles. It's a movie set for next summer's $250 million dollar action film "Transformers". Yea Transformers, those corny toys we all used to play with before we discovered a thing called girls. Megan plays Mikaela, your typical love interest who falls for the wrong guy at the wrong time. The director yells ACTION and she does nothing. Nothing. She stands in awe as explosions go off in front of her and a giant machine shaped like a car that was stripped and put back together standing 30 feet tall moves its arms (equipped with guns) in her direction. The director, a tall slim guy with sunglasses, a bad tan, and his shirt unbuttoned enough for you to see his six pack abs shouts CUT and runs to her. He asks what's wrong and she says she didn't know what to do. After telling off his First Assistant Director, he instructs the young actress to run as fast as she can across the street (avoiding on coming traffic of course) and that when she gets to the other side a huge explosion will go off right in front of her as the glass window of the adjacent mall will shatter. He shows her step for step what to do and she nods to show she understands. As he walks back to his camera he whispers to me "chicks" as he shakes his head. He picks up his megaphone and shouts 3, 2, 1, ACTION one more time. Michael Bay, the man responsible for such Hollywood blockbusters as Bad Boys, The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, Bad Boys 2, and a little flop he'd like for us to forget called The Island, is the aforementioned screaming mad man in charge with directing the much anticipated movie. Bay, not known for casting actresses based off talent but more for their other "ASSets", knew right away Fox was perfect for the role. "Her character is basically the school bad girl. She sleeps around with guys and is the most popular girl in the school. Every guy wants her. Megan has that sexiness and badass quality, that certain edge and confidence I needed Mikaela to have. She's the hottest girl at Sam's high school and Sam becomes obsessed with getting her", says Bay. Sam is the main human star of the film, played by Shia LaBeouf (Holes, TV's Even Stevens, Constantine, I, Robot, etc.). He is a nerdy teen whole learns to be cool and is loosely based off of Spike, the cartoon human character who was the main kid that interacted with the good Transformers, The Autobots. "He wants to impress her and he sees she likes a guy who has a nice car, so that's what leads him to buy the Camaro", continues Michael. "Then he discovers this car is more than meets the eye and now he gets involved in this huge war and it's all because he wanted to nail this chick. I think it's a dillemma all guys can relate to." DMX A TRANSFORMER? Here at Xtra Large, we always love to see one of our fellow rap stars getting roles in quality films. Fox drops a major hint at DMX possible being involed in the film. "The movie was a constant party. Michael (Bay) owns a couple clubs and one is in Vegas. The first week of shooting him and Tyrese and all these girls from VIP came and it was a total blast. Most directors don't do that. But Bay is cool, he's young. He's from our generation and he loves hip hop and he actually asked me and Shia how we felt if people like Snoop Dogg or DMX were called to do the voice for Jazz, one of the Autobots. I was like, Hell Yea!" ![]() Shia LaBeouf and rapper DMX hang out at ILM editing studios ACTING WITH MACHINES ![]() The Transformers in the film will be 70 percent CGI (computer generated images) and 30 percent real, according to the film's visual effects supervisor Eric Brevig. Brevig, who also is one of the key visual effects designers for ILM (Industrial Light & Magic, the CG company for the film), says it was Bay's idea to build several real life robots for certain scenes. "Michael did not want all the robots to be CG. He wanted some of them to be real life machines that the actors could interact with. He anticipated that many of the cast would struggle having dialogue scenes with objects that simply were not there. So early on in pre-production he came up with the idea that we need to put aside about $50 million of our budget to contructing real life, 20 to 40 foot tall Transformers that have movable limbs and make noises. He coudln't been more right. When people see how these things move and how we built them, they are going to flip. We have the best people in the world working on these things, and the CG is done so well that hopefully when you sit and watch the film you won't be able to tell, is this a real robot I am looking at or a computer generated one?" ![]() Acting with robots presented quite a challange for Fox. "Yea it was weird. But then again this is a kids movie. its for kids and kids are into this stuff so as an actor you just play along. I mean everything for me was weird doing this (film) but then again it was my first film and for most actors, you don't jump into Hollywood and have your first movie be a Michael Bay movie, let alone the most expensive movie of all time. It's a lot of pressure." ![]() SURVIVING THE STUNTS Michael Bay is a director who likes for his actors to do most of, if not all, their own stunt work. "Yea that was hard for me. I am a very fit person to begin with but we had really really long days and lots of running and jumping and explosions going off and what not. I think Shia twisted his ankle the first week. Tyrese hurt his shoulder during one scene where he gets thrown through a wall. I cut my lip during one scene where Megatron has me tied up. I had to get stitches. It was real tough but a ton of fun at the same time. Michael is the kind of director who makes it fun. Even when you're up 500 stories in the air hanging off a building he tells you to have fun, look sexy, and I'm like, are you crazy, I could die right now. Looking sexy is the last thing on my mind. But he is like a photographer in a way. The way he asks for a certain look from his actors. He is big on that, I remember him doing that a lot. Give me that sexy look, that pouty look, bite your lip and look down before you look up again and kiss him. Put your hand here or your leg here. He has an image in his mind and he wants the actor to capture that. It's really amazing how his mind works. People say he's crazy, but I had a blast. I just think he's a perfectionist." CONTROVERSY ON THE SET Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green (of 90210 fame) Partying, late night hook ups, and scandal are nothing new to a Michael Bay movie set (rumors of Bay and Scarlett Johansson hanky panky on The Island were never proven, yet pictures of the two at L.A. hot spot "Dulce" say other wise). But, Megan made the papers very early on during the shoot of the four month filming schedule and for all the wrong reasons. Pictures were taken of her and now fiance Brian Austin Green having lunch on the set and Fox was caught with her hands in his pants, literally. "It was pretty embarrassing but you know what? These same people snap photos of Lindsay Lohan coming out of clubs with alcohol in her hand and pictures of Britney Spears with no panties on so if them taking those photos of me gets me more notoriety, then I think it's great. Most actresses complain about the paparazzi, but I think it's a good thing. If people are talking about you, you are one step ahead of that other b**** whose giving blowjobs to try and get a role in a movie like (Transformers)". Not afraid of controversial statements, the outspoken actress gave racy interviews to "Maxim", "FHM", and gay & lesbian mag "Steppin Out" magazine where she braggingly speaks about her ample sex drive. "I'm like a 14 year old boy, I just want it all the time" she said in Maxim's July 2005 issue. "I think that's why me and Shia got along so well on set. He knows I'd never (do it with) him but we vibed because he's a hip hop head, I'm a hip hop head, we both like to drink, curse, and say what the f*** is on our minds. People may not like it but it's who we are." ![]() CROTCH GRAB CAFE WHAT'S NEXT? Megan plans on returning to television for a while before picking her next movie role, but she doesn't count out the road Shia suggested for her. "Yea he told me if I want to get respect I should do indie films. I guess sitcoms and big budget action movies are not the best way to get cred in this town, but I don't care about cred. I am not Naomi Watts. I'm not Merly Streep, you know? I kind of look at Lindsay (Lohan), Sharon Stone, Demi Moore. They do what the f*** they want you know? They're strong, sexy, powerful women who make their own way and don't care what people say about them. I love that." But Fox feels more comfortable on the small screen for now. "Yea I hope every movie I do isn't as hard as this. I want to go back to TV sitcoms for a while and take it easy before I do another movie. I better get a big ass pay check when this thing comes out. All you Transformer nerds, go see it!" Yea I am sure a girl wearing $2,000 dollar jeans and who drives a brand new Porsche really needs our hard earned dollars. Transformers slams into theaters world wide July 4, 2007.
