Go ahead, make my day!

I tried getting the Dirty Harry DVD box set ("The Dirty Harry Collection";all 5 films) on Fri. but supposedly it's out of print/"been discontinued". Also, two different stores didn't have any of the films in stock individually either. Is W.B. fixin' to release a new and truly Deluxe Dirty Harry box set with all the films restored (both "sound" and "picture" wise) or somethin'?

P.S.
I've checked with Amazon and they seem to all be out of print.

Well, 2006 would have been the 35th anniversary so not sure if Warner has any plans for such an edition Would be nice though! Love to get Dirty Harry on HD-DVD!

Why would W.B. let a celluoid ICON go out of print? And not honor the birth of Dirty Harry with a release of a 35th Anniv. Edition box set last year? It doesn't make sense considering W.B.'s track record.

Well I can't really blame Warner as they've had a solid catalogue release schedule with some fantastic box sets and classics

These put Paramount and Universal to shame!!

Maybe Clint is standing in the way (figuratively speaking)? Oh I get it, Clint wants a percentage of the profit that'll be made on a new Dirty Harry box set! And W.B. and Clint can't agree on just how much Clint's percentage will be (that part hasn't been "settled" yet)! That's why the delay! Clint's being greedy!

P.S.
Good thing I stumbled upon (and bought) a used copy of the box set (which was in very good condition, btw) in a used DVD and CD and Video Games shop yesterday!

Don't panic! Warner Bros. are working on special editions for these classics as we speak, Clint has gone into his personal archives to gather tons of extra material just for this new discs, which are going to be completely restored and re-mastered, and will also feature the new 5.1 and original mono soundtracks -- and yes, we may even get commentary tracks.

Expect one hell of a box set later this year. I've heard it's going to be two discs per movie but don't quote me on that.

Eastwood and Warner Bros. want to put together a great set that does these films justice, it has nothing to do with Clint "wanting a cut" -- in fact he's helping out with these new sets BIG TIME! I wouldn't be surprised if we get Clint Eastwood commentary tracks...

I own all of the current Dirty Harry movies and they're pretty barebones, I am really looking forward to this double dip!

Does that "top post" mean that this upcoming Dirty Harry Collection will only be available in the HD-DVD format?

Well obviously nothing is 100% at this point but why would Warner Bros. pull the current Dirty Harry discs from circulation if they weren't going to release them on good ol' DVD?

Also if they did release it as a HD-DVD exclusive it would be the first time any studio had done such a thing.
