BLACK SHEEP(The Next Great Horror-Comedy)

"The sheep are Revolting!"

This movie looks absolutely hilarious. It seems to be plying it almost as a straight horror film with the cliched premise of "experiments gone awry, test subjects mutate, etc." only this time it involves sheep! It's getting a nation-wide American release June 22nd.

I'm looking forward to this really over-the-top horror/comedy. The tagline alone won me over.

"There are over *number* Sheep in New Zealand . . . and they're pissed off!"

The violence of the lambs? That is pure gold. Looks dumb enough for my liking. Is this going to theatres though? Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Never mind. I just found out this will get a theatrical release on June 22nd. Strange cause this looks like the type of film that had "straight to dvd" written all over it. I'll be in theatres to check this one out though. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Creature-Corner has a clip of the movie up. I tried to view it but the link didn't work for me. Also, they say that if you are in the New York area you could have a chance at seeing it on the big screen because the only theatre which will be playing it is in NY. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

personally i'd highly recommend it, aside from Shaun of the Dead it's the best horror comedy i remember seeing from recent years....reminds me of Dead Alive comedy wise only with less gore and to be honest it really doesnt need it

Cool! You have actually seen it Cronos? Well with DEAD-ALIVE being one of my top ten films and Shaun also being held in high regard I am really looking forward to this one. I mean come on! ZOMBIE SHEEP?! Why didn't somebody think of this earlier? Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

yeah, watched it on a video hosting website (probably a workprint screener since it was missing some sound effects) before finding out it's apparently getting a UK cinema release towards the end of the year....as long as it's showing near me i'll definitely be seeing it again

I can't wait for this , when you have a company as great as Weta doing the visual effects for a film with such silly a premise as killer sheep , i don't see how you can go wrong . Just hope i can find the time to make the trip , it'll take about an hour and a half altogether , one way , cause i'm sure it's playing downtown .

And cronos , if you liked it that much without seeing the finished product , just think how good it's going to be when you see the completed one .

This movie has been on my radar for a LONG TIME. As Dead Alive and Shaun of the Dead are some of my favorite flicks, i really have high hopes for this one.

Posting an update for those who are interested. Black Sheep will be arriving on dvd October 9th and here are the features that Fangoria has announced:

• Audio commentary by writer/director Jonathan King and actor Nathan Meister
• The Making of Black Sheep featurette
• 5 deleted scenes with optional commentary
• Blooper reel
• Early Morning: Surprise scene shot exclusively for the DVD

I will DEFINITELY be picking this up some time but October is SUCH a heavy month for us horror fans that I just don't know when.

Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Haha if this was to go to theaters we'd be in a much better world. I'd enjoy nothing more then to watch Killer Sheep on the big screen.

I caught this a few weeks ago. Absolutely brilliant! The effects were awesome, it was funny at just the right moments, and the humor was perfect. If you like zombie or zombie type movies, you'll love it!

Think Shaun of the Dead, except in New Zealand with sheep.

MILD SPOILER

The transformation scene takes a few cues from Rick Baker. Points for style!

Yeah, I think it was literally playing in one theatre over there. I didn't care to travel that far to see it but oh well. Now it will be on dvd and my problem will be solved. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I just watched this on IFC-On Demand last night. I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed Bad Taste, Dead Alive and the Undead as well. This one is very similar, but not as good as, those films. Its just as over the top though. The F/X are well done and there is alot of gore. Think the original Dawn of the Dead. Just substitute zombies for sheep. The sheep are also filmed well. They shoot the sheep on certain angles and in shadows so they look as menacing as a sheep can look. The story is simple but its good enough to hold your interest and starts rolling fast. There is enough action so you dont get bored at all. If you get IFC-On Demand its well worth to pay and check it out.

To Ratlehed and any other other schmoes in the Philadelphia/Jersey area. The schedule was released yesterday and it turns out that Monster Mania will be showing Black Sheep over the weekend. Too bad for me, they're showing it on Friday when I won't be able to go. Drat. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

personally, i didn't care much for this movie. i appreciated what they were trying to do, but it was essentially the same joke through the movie and milked it far too much.
everyone should see it at least once, i mean it's killer sheep... but it's nothing i'd ever own.

This , 28 Weeks Later , and Wrong Turn 2 , can't go wrong this week , there is all kinds of horror goodness to be had .

About the one joke thing , i don't care , that is precisely why i want to see this , because of the one supposed joke . Killer sheep is one helluva inspired idea for a horror / comedy , i wouldn't care if it was 3 hours , i want to see this thing .
