Secret Window, Secret Garden (Spoilers)

Has anyone read the Stephen King novella "Secret Window, Secret Garden" from King's book "Four Past Midnight."

I just finished reading the story today (got the book for Easter) and I loved it.

My question is: What's your take on the ending?

My theory is this, John Shooter was part imagination due to Mort Rainey's unbalanced mind and partly the ghost of John Kinter.

Am I right or..?

I havent read this story in forever but I remember the ending being more ambiguous. Still i kind of wish they did either Library policeman or Sun Dog out of the book

It ends with Rainey getting shot by the insurance investigator. Then there's an epilogue where Amy is talking to him about someone who had talked to Tom Greenleaf before he died and how he said he could see Shooter talking to Mort but he could see right through him.

And then Amy found Shooter's hat and put it outside and when she returned there was a note in it...from Shooter. And this had been long after Mort had died.

I started to read "The Library Police" yesterday and so far it's nice and spooky. King is a great writer.

Finished "The Library Police" the other day...very good story that, if done right, would make a great movie. Although how the filmmakers would handle Ardelia (at the end) and the Library Policeman are worrying. **Spoilers**The story also contains the raping of a little boy that I doubt would make it into the movie**End Spoilers**
