Is there any author whose books you keep buying for your collection?

I have a huge collection of Stephen King and VC Andrews books, and I keep buying more to add to my collection. How about anyone else?

David Eddings, Robin Hobb, David Gemmell and Raymond Feist.

Oh, and I own all the Harry Potter books, and all of the Eoin Colfer "Artemis Fowl" series.

I would collect all the Dean Koontz books, but my girlfriend is working on that at the moment, and as we're moving in within the next year, it seems stupid to start doubling everything up...

Laurell K. Hamilton
Max Allen Collins
J.K. Rowling
Jefferey Deavers

Those are my top authors.

I also have all of Anne Rice, but I haven't read the most recent ones yet.

Stephen King and Simon Clark spring automatically to mind. I'm also fond of Iain Banks but every second book is one of his mind boggling sci-fi excursions. I'll get around to struggling through them at some point...just not yet. Anyone else? Irvine Welsh whenever he releases a book is sure to secure a purchase from yours truly. I like James Herbert but have yet to get around to his last few books. At the moment i'm more of a comic book reading schmoe. I buy everything by Steve Niles. He's an enormous talent. Anything by Neil Gaiman irrespective of whether it's a comic or prose will find it's way into my collection. Grant Morrison and Warren Ellis are both insanely talented (and just plain insane). I buy practically anything by Alan Moore...the guy is a god. Brian Michael Bendis is also supremely talented and I think i'm currently buying everything that he's currently writing.

Oh...and David Gemmell. The king of heroic fantasy. There are no contenders. The throne is his.

I currently have the entire sandman collection as well as the Legends short story collection in my shopping cart at amazon. This will be the first time in my buying history I would have bought such a large number of books by the same author all at one time. Gaimans worth it.

Bowieee...

Here's some advice. Take an entire day. Start at 9am. Read the entire Sandman collection in one sitting. The experience will be revelatory. I promise.

Amen to that. I'm going to be very interested in his Troy project. It will be nice to have a break from Druss again (I was always more of a waylander person...)

Richard Laymon, although I'm beginning to tire of his formula a bit.

Karin Slaughter - I've bought all four she's written so far.

Jonathan Kellerman - my mum is actually collecting all his books, but I'm reading them all too, and have a few of his in my collection as well.

I've been trying to collect those damn elusive Stephen Donaldson oldie books for quite a while now, but I can't seem to find em...
The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant are a great series, as well as the "Mordant" books. Also Timothy Zahn's "Thrawn" and "Hand of Thrawn" trilogies are an honored part of my collection, and Im also on the prowl for any "Cobra books".

Reading that again makes feel like a bookworm... *mixed emotions*

I've read 3 of the Lincoln Rhyme books by Deaver's and I really enjoy them. I have read, Bone Collector, The Empty Chair, and The Vanished Man. Are there more of this series?
