some of my poems

all copywritten..........

I don't usually put my stuff out there
for the world to see, unless I'm on
a certain website, which shall remain
nameless. I'm highly curious as to what
think of my poetry, some of which has one
awards Well, let me know what you think.
And if anything needs to be worked on.

GATHERING OF ASHES

Dare my eye's decieve me?
Though I see a river of blood
before my worn out feet,
a Gathering of Ashes fills
the pool, incessant smoke
billows, rising like death from
the grave to the lavish red sky.
Do I decieve me?
Fore I know not what this is,
a haven for devils, or birth to
my insanity?
Those pestilent ashes,
render me blind, in
the winds. I can not see,
that which lays before me.

ZOMBA

The wraiths roam the desolate city,
squealing with lint in their grey throats.
Sun peering through decayed clouds,
burning up orange, fierce with red.
They dawdle towards the feast of flesh
like Apostles to Christ, examining the
wasteland of undead cadavers who mock
and betray their formal skin, tenacious to
survive. Social outcasts who escaped their
sepulchers to enter into the cosmos.

A Thousand Times Denied

You can see, the misery,
is eating me,
as I plead for normality,
Hallucinations the fallacy,
yet pester me tremendously.
Take the pathetic stairs,
to oblivion, Mr. Obsidion,
fall to Zion, to be reckoned
with, by my cursed kin.
The voices in my head,
still pray that I stay dead,
I'm their visious adversary,
yet don't comprehend the voice
that I carry,
I can be boisterous,
knee deep in dirt,
go away, or face the hurt.
They can see, the pain I hide inside,
don't stare at me, or be
a Thousand Times Denied.

If you read the above one before, you probably saw it on
Poetry.com, currently I am awaiting my status standing
in an awards ceremony. Doubt it will win, but one can hope.

Netherworld Asylum

Down the lofty tundra,
I venture forth on a journey
to the Netherworld Asylum.
It's there for people like me.
Skeletons of ravens hung as
though they were wreaths upon
the wooden doors.
The luminous gargoyals adorned
the granite architecture.
And as I walked the marble floors
a scream did I hear, perceiving
that it emitted from my mouth.
It echoes still on this eclipsed
moon night. I layed down upon
the gurney to dream a lucid dream.
I was just a ghost amidst
the shadows of doom.

And on last one..........

Body Of Sky

I search upon
the lanterns of heaven,
the unfolding skies,
arrayed with
precious jewels,
that scar my body.
They fall like
bitter comets,
colliding with
kaleidoscopic abandon,
recklessly haunting
my soul, like ghosts
in the mists.
Nebulae, stitched upon
my eyes set aflame,
faintly searching for the lighthouse
signal, as I thrash amdist
the stormy oceans.
Dead eye's firmly
planted on Zion.

Not bad.

I've been published before in university publications. A word of advice. Be careful about "having your work published" through stuff like poetry.com.

Most of the time, those things are just a scam to make money. If you have to pay any type of fee to buy the book or anything, than it's not really "having your work published." They just put who ever pays the money into a book. Think of all the people that pay, what, $40 for that book and shipping? They are constantly coming out with a new "series" of books. And every time, some unknowing hundreds of people pay the money, because they think that they are being published, when in reality, that's not really the case. Well, if you don't pay, then you don't get the book, so you never realize that they didn't put you in it, even if they claim you were good enough to "win." Be aware.

If it something where there's no financial obligation, go for it. Also, most universities have contests you can enter, and they're legit. I've made quite a bit of money that way.

Thanks for the advice Nacho, I have to keep writing before
I get to submit anything to a college, but really, all I have to do
is go through my 15 notebooks, and collect some good ones.
Shouldn't take long.

Merry Christmas
