The Suicide Plague (script excerpts, and tidbits on filming)

Plot Outline

The story is about a group of mentally ill persons,
who have had medication cocktails, Electro Shock Therapy,
various long term hospitalizations, but no reprieve from what ails them constantly. With the hospital squandering their money away, they shuffle a group of 5 people out the door, into the world.
One day, the group gathers together at the Lyndhurst
Boardwalk, and make plans to kill themselves, but a few weeks apart from each other.
The number dwindles down to three people left,
but someone in the group is getting second thoughts,
and blurts out the pact to a mutual friend, and later goes catatonic.
But in a small town where everybody knows everyone, the info gets back to the group, and anyone in the group that's not dead yet, will be by the morning hour.

Script Excerpt

Well, filming will progress tomorrow night,
on a scene that was filmed two times already.
I had to re-write the entire scene, leaving
maybe but a speck of the original intact.
I'm not to happy with this, but I know it will
be for the better.

There is honestly no movie to compare this
to, which i guess is a good thing.

I'm looking forward to filming a different scene
altogether, but if it turns out like the previous
scene, I'm gonna poop my pants in sheer agitation.

The scene we are to film, is kind of a set up piece,
so you get to know the characters.


Part of the scene in question.

CARTER:
Hey, remember those silly ink blot tests,
Dr. Monroe showed us?

DEX:
Yeah, every one I saw I told him
I saw beautiful dead chicks.

Jacob and Carter look at Dex,
clearly dumbfounded.

CARTER:
Ummm, ok.

JACOB:
I don't wanna tell you what I saw,
but they were little, and that's
all I'll say.

Carter looks at Dex then Jacob,
as if to say he's got everyone beat.

CARTER:
I saw everyone I know...dead.

DEX:
You're shitting me, right?

CARTER:
Wish to fuck I was.

JACOB:
So, what do we do now?

DEX:
Ritual suicide?

CARTER:
How about the mall?

DEX:
I prefer ritual suicide.

JACOB:
Suicide, why does that sound like fun?

DEX:
It does, I don't like being alive,
I'm the blight on society, and it's
getting a tad redundent.

CARTER:
I wish Alex and Tim were here,
they'd know what to do.

JACOB:
I got it!

CARTER:
Got what?

DEX:
pubic lice?

JACOB:
No, but I'll fill you in
when we all get together.


If you catch that reference, you win a cookie,
and I'll give you a hint. It's from a Kevin Smith film.
I should've just stuck with horror references,
but you won't find alot of references to other
movies littered throughout this movie.
You may not consider it a reference, as I just took
the dialogue from it, and inserted into the film.

If you have a keen eye, I don't know, but just saying,
if you do, you might've stumbled onto this on my webpage,
which is pretty bare bones, but it does have some music
that will be used in the film, up on the music section
of the website, which you can findhere
I will be taking the music out, and adding different ones
every week.
So some of what you read in here, is taken directly from the site, but I changed things, to make it more cohesive.
