The Butterfly Effect 2

sequels.... don't we just love them

Well here comes another.... and guess what, there is no Ashton Kutcher. OK the guy is a dick at times but come on....

According to Variety, FilmEngine has approved a pitch for a sequel to the 2004 New Line hit that studio plans to distribute as a negative pickup of a sequel to The Butterfly Effect. The pic will have all new characters, meaning original's star, Ashton Kutcher, isn't expected to be involved.

Veteran D.P. John Leonetti, who directed Mortal Kombat: Annihilation has been tapped to helm from a script being written by Michael Weiss. The story will follow a new character who, like Kutcher in the first, finds he can travel through time.

As he changes past events, though, they have unexpected consequences in the present. The pic is on a fast track, with casting set to start as soon as a script is delivered. Producers hope to start shooting by the fall.

Well, it could be worth watching....... GIVE YOUR VERDICT!!!!!

The original wasn't even very good, I doubt this will be good at all.

i bet they'll turn this into the next final destination, the first was pretty cool, but really just a pointless and unneeded sequel, i wonder what movies would be like is studio execs like movies more than money, i mean i know its a business and there in it to make money but we just need to ship 3 or 4 schmoe to each studio to let them know what to do

Wow...I liked TBE, but a sequel?
Anytime I thought about this movie, the word sequel never popped in my head.
It's like The Others, and Natural Born Killers, YOU JUST DON'T NEED A SEQUEL!
Sure, you never need a sequel (Excluding franchises), but sometimes making sequels makes sense (To producers), but this is way out there...

The sly stupidity of the first film worked due to the inept Ashton Kutcher's comical performance...or was it comical? Funniest movie I saw in '04. No need for a sequel if Ashton isn't there to fuck it up.

Shouldn't that be enough to dissuade us from seeing this. I thought BUTTERFLY EFFECT was fun and original enough, but a sequel would lack that, and be retarded.

I thought the first one great. Very original. Am I the only one who liked Kutcher's performance. It was one of those movies I didn't want to end. But a sequel? Come on. It's just gonna be the same old storyline from the first one with different people. IT WILL NOT WORK!

I really liked 'The Butterfly Effect' but there's really no point in a sequel. I hate how studios will sometimes just make stupid sequels just for the sake of making them.

It was one of my favorite films of 2004, but I don't think it deserves a sequel.

Man, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the studio's next horror franchise. Thing is, movies like Final Destination can fall back on jumps and excellent gore to retain our interest, whereas what the hell are they gonna do with TBE?

Well, I really like the IDEA of the Butterfly Effect and there's more to be shown. There is so many ways you can make a time travel movie work.

And again, my main problem with the first film was ASHTON KUTCHER!
THANK GOD he's not involved in this. There's hope for the movie, I do have faith in it.

I loved BE but unless they went on a totally completely different route (and I mean totally completely different) it's going to reek like hell.

I WON'T ALLOW IT!

The Butterfly Effect was a great movie, everyone who says otherwise has their head up their ass, and is lookin for way too much in movies.
