best comedic performance: will ferrell (anchorman)

best on-screen team: Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Spencer Fox and Sarah Vowell - "The Incredibles"

best villian: ben stiller (dodgeball) but i bet tom cruise will win, that almost reminds of the old skit with tom cruise and tom cruz

As good as it is to see Anchorman recognised at last, (particularly Afternoon Delight, which had better win) it's criminal that Team America only got one nom.

True enough.

The only real shock was that Cary Elwes wasn't nominated for Best Comedic Performance....

My thoughts:

Best movie: Ugh. Don't get me wrong, they are all good movies, except for Napoleon Dynamite which I have not seen, but no great movies. Out of those bunch, the best one is Ray.

Best Male performance:

Not a bad group. Maybe not the best, but certainly not bad. My choice is Leonardo Dicaprio who was amazing in The Aviator.

Best Female performance:

Once again, not a great group but not a bad one either. My choice would be Natalie Portman.

Best Comedic Performance:

Hoffman, Smith and Farrell are all great choices. Stiller and Banderas are very eh. Farrell is probably going to win but I hope Hoffman wins. He was so damn hilarious!

Best On Screen Duo:

A so-so group. I'm rooting for Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Fred Armisen and Steve Carell.

Best Villian:

Half and half. Some good choices (Cruise, McAdams, Molina) and some not so good (Carrey, Stiller). Give it to Cruise although I wouldn't be disappointed if Molina won as well.

Breakthrough performance male:

A very eh group. Zach Braff deserves it although Tim McGraw was surprisingly good too.

Breakthrough performance female:

Pretty good choices although Rachel McAdams is more deserving for The Notebook than for Mean Girls. I'd vote for Elisha Cuthbert though.

Best Action Sequence:

Not bad. My choice is the plane crash in The Aviator. AMAZING scene!

Best Fight:

Eric Bana vs Brad Pitt in Troy just barely beats Uma Thurman vs Daryl Hannah in Kill Bill Vol. 2

Best Kiss:

I've never really been a fan of this category. But it definately belongs to Emile Hirsch and Elisha Cuthbert.

Musical performance:

Love the Thriller sequence in 13 Going on 30!

Best frightened performance:

This is a stupid categoery. Dekota Fanning gets my vote.

Best Video Game Based On A Movie

no opinion, no comment.

LOL, especially for SAW.

Does anyone know why they did away with the Best New Filmmaker award. I swear, as big of a joke as these awards are -- They really excelled in this part. They've chosen some pretty cool names before they made names for themselves.

Wes Anderson for Bottle Rocket
Doug Liman for Swingers
Guy Richie for Lock Stock
Spike Jonez for Being John Malcovich
Sofia Coppolla for The Virgin Suicides
Christopher Nolan for Memento

Now, they've done away with this award, and in its place, I kid you not: Best Trans-Atlantic Breakthrough Performer.
WTF!?

Ha. Yeah. I honestly believe that his overacting in Saw is one of the worst performances I've ever seen in any movie...ever.

It would be nice to see Kill Bill get some recognition, but it's all going to go to Anchorman (because Will Ferrell is God to most people) and Napoleon Dynamite.

Nice of MTV to snuff horror movies yet again, the bastards. Only SAW and SEED OF CHUCKY had nominations, and even then they only had one each.

And who the hell's idea was it on MTV's part to get Jimmy Fallon to host again?! This guy is about as funny as a sledgehammer to the nuts.

I think it's a good venue for him. In reality this is a pretty difficult show to host considering the production is so high. They really put on a show.

....BUT SHAME ON MTV FOR NOT HAVING BILL FROM "Kill bill 2" BEING NOMINATED FOR BEST VILLIAN! SHAME ON YOU MTV!

GOOD POINT!!!!

Napoleon Dynamite even having nominations...

Yeah, that was what I was thinking when I posted my comments about how they used to have the award for new directors who really showed their stuff. In days past, that was the sort of thing that ND would have been mentioned in. I guess over time MTV has gotten their hand into the movie making industry more and more.

The SAINT'S AND SINNERS film festival put on by Renegade Films down in Florida always had their movie festival and awards. However, they would disclude Renegade Film productions from the awards. That took a lot of class. What MTV is doing by smearing ND is shameful, even for a production in which it's devotees, such as myself, have such low standards.

The breakthrough male performance category is really competitive this year, but what's sad is that I can see the award going to the worst of the bunch (Heder) because it was an MTV film, no? MTV always gives awards to actors in their films. McGraw and Highmore were both good, in my opinion.

I swear to god. You're going to hear about this on the news:

"TEEN FUCKING LOSES IT AND MACHINE GUNS 27 PEOPLE AT THE MTV MOVIE AWARDS WHEN NAPOLEON DYNAMITE WINS BEST MOVIE" ....

"BUT AT LEAST HE TOOK PARIS HILTON WITH HIM"

But seriously, FUCK mtv and FUCK the mtv movie awards. This is voted on by the public, correct? All the little single minded zoned out teenagers that believe that mtv is the best network on televison are going to be text messaging their votes in and shit? Well then Napoleon Dynamite is clearly going to win, because of the unfourtane fucking fad its become....(BANG BANG). Why do they even bother nominating things like Kill Bill Vol.2, or nominating Leo for the Aviator? Its obvious that like 70% of the teens didnt see the aviator because it looked boring, and thought kill bill vol.2 was lame because there was alot more talking then the last one, the other 30% of the teen population, the ones that dig movies like The Aviator ETC. ETC. know mtv is total bullshit. Just....you know what....

FUCK.
