"Fantasic Four 2" Set Photos!

Hey everybody,

I wanted to make this post for the brand-new set photos from "Fantastic Four 2: Rise Of The Silver Surfer" as they're coming out in handfulls since production started. Below I'll post any set photos I find and some are very revealing already and looks very cool.

So to start it off, here are set photos of Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm/Thing, Jessica (Sexy!) Alba as Susan Storm/Invisible Woman and Ioan as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic.

I think the Thing costume looks awesome and he looks a little slimmer that he did in the first film. He looks awesome either way. Jessica may not be very visible in that first photo but goddamn she has smokin' legs! Very hot!

Wow THANKS Edler these pics are awsome, Things face does look to be improved!

I know i am alone here, but i am one of few movie fans who loved The Fantastic Four movie, Everything about it was awsome and fun, and it never tried to be anything else, i thought it was one of if not the best Marvel movie to date. With that being said i have huge hopes for Rise of the Silver Surfer, I think this movie is going to suprise people, Marvel movies always seem to get it more right the 2nd time.

No problem, they do look great. The plot of the sequel alone says that it should be so awesome. Tim Story will be ruined forever if he fucks this movie up.

And yeah Digifruitella, it releases in June 2007 so they have to get filming right away.

IMHO, the plot is key, and what terrifies me about this movie.

FF was a decent enough flick, but what they're talking about doing in the next movie is a step up. For those of you who don't know, if your a fan of Silver Age comics (1960 - 1985 ) at all, there are five holy grail stories, five stories that we treasure and that comic book fans adamantly refuse to let Hollywood fuck up, and that we'll be pissed if Hollywood does. Hollywood, so far, is 1- 2, messed one up completely, nailed one perfectly. Those five stories are:

- The Dark Phoenix Saga (x3 butchered it)

- The coming of Galactus (FF2)

- The Dark Knight returns

- Watchmen

- Batman: year one (Batman Begins got it right)

If you want to do the story of the coming of the SIlver Surfer, Herald of Galactus, destroyer of worlds, you had better be DAMN well sure you know what you're doing. You better have the Talent of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby to tell that story (Jack Kirby is the only person who would ever think up something so esoteric as the herald of a destroyer of worlds getting around the cosmos on a surfboard, a distinctly human thing). I'm very scared about this movie, if they do it right, it could be a home run though.

I watched the first Fantastic Four last night for the first time and surprisingly enjoyed it ('didn't think I would) and as such I had high hopes for the sequel. Good to know they're filming it right away (I had no idea when the release date was) as I'm looking forward to it and if its anything like the first one, but better (like all sequels should be), it should be a fun film.

Heres hoping.

I thought the first movie was average. But I am more than willing to give it a second chance. So with that, i'm looking foward to seeing this movie progress.

I'd say welcome to the boards but your bashing my favorite superhero's!

I have no doubt at all that FF2 will deliver the goods. Just seeing the silver surfer come to the big screen will make it worth it!

It cant be worse then the first one. It CANNOT.

The plot sounds like they are REALLY jumping ahead with the series, but im wondering if the movies fast paced production wont hurt something that was already bound for mediocracy before it even started filming.

okay, maybe I was a bit harsh, I had just hoped the first F4 was gonna be rock out-with cock out, and it wasn't. Lets hope they really run with the SS idea and not fuck that up. Im psyched for Spiderman 3, thats the comic book film to watch out for!

Yeah thanks. i know who you are on there i've seen you there. But it seems of late there's more negativity than posiitive stuff on there. I mean its only a few weeks into shooting and there shitting all over it already.I mean atleast wait until a trailer comes out. But then again thats over active fan boys for you.

Yeah thanks i think i'll be around here a while. And yeah can't wait for the SS pics!

I agree. I just hope this time around they dont have a 5 minute fight sequence with the one and only Dr. Doom! that was a huge dissapointment and now that the initial story of them becoming who they are is out of the way, this has the making of being pretty good.

The fact that this is coming out makes me want to stab someone in the face.
I thought the first one was soo bad. It's too bad Michael Chiklis is involved, because he's a terrific actor.

C'mon Hollywood: Give Michael Chiklis some decent work

Seconded on all acounts.

I was really hoping they were pictures of someone commiting arson on the set, doing everything they could to keep this film from reaching daylight. The first one has to be one of my worst movie going experiences of all time.

I don't care what you bashers say. This movie will rock just like the first one, and the silver surfer is in it! Just one word....SWWEEEEET!

Still waiting on pics and am wondering if Galactus will make an appearance.

Couldn't Agree more with you.

I hope they leave Galactus as a cliffhanger ending, seeing him coming towards Earth.

"Weta Digital to Create Silver Surfer FX
Source: The Hollywood Reporter September 24, 2006

20th Century Fox has picked Academy Award-winning visual effects house Weta Digital to oversee the upcoming film Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer. The studio tapped Weta to create a state-of-the-art version of the Marvel Comics character Silver Surfer.

Noted character actor Doug Jones (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy) will provide performance and movement references for Weta, in a process similar to the way Andy Serkis portrayed Gollum in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. The voice casting of Silver Surfer has yet to be determined.

The Hollywood Reporter says Weta has developed an advanced computer-generated animation process that employs motion-capture techniques updated to add further dimensionality to the liquid-metal hero."

Weta is a perfect choice to do the CGI this time around, They did amazing stuff with the LOTR's and now that I think about it this is probaly the best F/X house Marvel has ever had work on any of their movie's.
