Film production in Vancouver

So today we were walking down the streets of historic Gastown, Vancouver - and we stumbled upon what was undoubtedly a film production. There were many jeeps and cars, and a trailer parked on the road - the road was blocked off. There were crates full of equipment, wires, lighting fixtures, gobos, filters, and other things, and also ones marked "props", "costumes", etc. And there were a bunch of people walking around with walkie-talkies and other equipment. A crane was lifted in front of the window of one ofthe apartments, that was shining a very powerful spot-light in through the window. The other windows of the apartment were blocked off with black shades. But no matter how hard I looked, I couldn't see a name of a film printed on anything.

Is there some way to check or find out what movies are currently filming in Vancouver? Because I am certainly very curious indeed as to what film was in production there.

This site lists current movies being filmed but not the exact locations. I spend a lot of time up there and when I see filming I just ask and get an answer. If it's a big production and long-term the local businesses will know.
