Corbijn is definitely my least favourite of the bunch, followed by Sednaoui. Glazer and Romanek are awesome, and the first three (Jonze, Gondry and Cunningham) are simply in a totally other league altogether. I wonder if they'll go forward with any more releases; I would personally love to see the works of Samuel Bayer, Jonas Åkerlund, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, Jonathan Dayton/Valerie Faris, Hammer and Tongs, and of course David Fincher although I believe he's stated before that he refuses to release a volume of his own (boo!).

And the ooze, what a fucking fanTASTIC collection.

Im still kind of pissed about the first boxed set. I bought all three individually and some 3 months later they released the box set, so I missed out on the bonus disc. I also like Corbijin the least. His videos are a bit too rooted in the eighties, which it wouldnt surprise me if thats when they were filmed, and dont seem to have the visual control that he others have.

Originally my favorite was Gondry, followed by Romanek(I love how he can make a simple concert video something special), but I think I enjoy Glazer the most now. That one VW commercial floors me. The shot with the firemen ducking under the blast, and the flames cling to the facemask of the third man, oooh its beautiful. In fact, I believe its up there on the prettiest things I have ever seen in film.

The ooze, you collection is prett darn fraktastic. Two questions though, what set is directly to the right of your Hitchcock set, and what are those two large boxes next to "The Rock"?

Does the word Hitchcock only cover half of the case? If so, that explains it. It just looks like there are two sets side by side. They are about 5 dvds to the left of Indiana Jones.

Wait...Wait...is the set really thick? Your right, all one big hitchcock set. Thanks.

Yes, that's EXACTLY what I love about Romanek: his concepts are simple and his execution amazing. He also has an extremely faried set; I mean, who would have thought that the same director did Michael and Janet's "Scream", Nine Inch Nails' "Closer" and Audioslave's "Cochise". Three totally different styles, all amazing.

Corbijn is boring not only because he's all 80's videos shot on what seems like extremely grainy 8mm, but also because he has one very, VERY specific and ultimately quite boring and not very special/unique visual style that appears in all of his videos. What makes the others special (especially Romanek, Jonze and Gondry) is just how varied they get with their videos while still managing to keep that certain distinction that sets their work apart. Glazer indeed has the most amazing commercial work out of the bunch, and some really awesome videos - that "Rabbit in Your Headlights" video gives me chills down my spine every time I see it. He doesn't have nearly as many videos as the others, but he also has two awesome movies to boot, so that really boosts him. And Sednaoui... he's got some great videos and some boring ones. Really hit and miss. He also has these weird art movies as extra features on his DVD.

Im all for weird art movies.

The thing I liked best about Romanek is the Johnny Cash video. Im a HUGE cash fan and that video puts tears in my eyes every time. In fact, I might have to go watch some today when I get home from work.

It takes a long time and a geeky obsession with whats coming out everywhere. To be fair, I only have about ten things that you couldnt have bought in regular stores at one time.

yeah most of my stuff was just from your everyday best buy or target and occasionally suncoast or something....but there was a good while there where i was calling around town to find silence of the lambs criterion cause it had just went oop and 1 store in a mall had a copy....so i drove a half hour to go get that bitch...and my killer criterion was a bday present from my best friend back when i got my first dvd player...he got it at best buy...

i think alot of peeps here check when and what stuff is coming out so they know specifically what to look for and only after they have the tits stuff walk around and say ooo look what i found in the 2 for wooden fucking nickle bin hidden in the back corner of some ladies clothing store!

as for money....i used to not have a wife, mortgage or children....that was how

Howard the Duck is one of the few remaining VHS I still own (I sold most of my VHS 5 years ago). I even have a foreign release region 2 of the dvd from Malaysia I think. I still have 3 sets of star wars (thx, SE's and originals) on vhs, friday the 13th that I got for a $1 when I tried to rent it as it was cheaper to rent it than buy it, Double Idemnity because I couldn't find it to rent and All the President's Men with Espanol subtitles that I got for a $1 because it was cheaper to buy then rent. So thats 12 total vhs left.

For Example: You Never Open Them

Where did you get that black/whie SAW poster?

Where did you get the uncut Kite and Mezzo Forte? I know only the sex scenes were removed, but anything being removed bugs me.

I love that you still have the godfather wrapped. I bought that set and watched the first one that weekend. It has sense been a year and I finally got around to watching the second movie in the set earlier this week.

I noticed that you have that Platoon. If you like steelbooks you might want to keep it wrapped and trade it in in June.

Yours is the kind of collection that makes me both proud and envious. Im envious of your dvds, but Im proud cause I see alot of similar titles and it throws a bit of worth behind mine.

1) lol. The saw poster i made. Yes well not quit, ok back when SAW II came out on dvd it came with a free comic book(best buy). The comic book measures 4X7. So i fell in love with that pic and so i work at fedex kinkos so i took it to work and scanned it in the comp told it to scan to 24x36 and print it and laminated it. Also everyone at work flipped out and love that poster so mostly everyone wanted one so i had to print it out. lol. (everyone at my work calles me a movie freak) which i am and very proud to be one.

2) Kite and mezzo forte yes, i own both uncut. I got from suncoast at my local mall. It was in the hentai section. lol. (its considered hentai the UNCUT VERSION)

3)The godfather is a great trilogy!!!!

4)When is the steelbook of platoon comig out? also any others?

5)Well i take pride im my collection. I fucking love movies with a passion. I don't know where i would be without them. I buy movies nonstop. last week in only 3 days i spent 300 dollars on movies alone. My collection grows more and more every week.

Yes, so many people envy me because of my collection.

The steelbook comes out in June as well as X2 and a few others. Let me look real quick for "The List".

Steelbook Releases

June 5th
Fight Club
The Omen
X2: X-men United

June 12th
Man on Fire
Hannibal

Thats the list of Fox dvds(it was all I could find). I believe there are many more but couldnt find them. It seems June is the steelbook re-release month. I know for a fact that Platoon is also coming out early to mid June(Ive held off buying it so I can get the steelbook). Its cover looks something very akin to the 2 disc of Jarhead.

I am so going to hit up suncoast and look through there porn section. I never considered looking there. I always just went onto amazon/other online retailers.

Isnt it a cool feeling when people walk into the room and whistle or gawk? Damn I love that.
