WTF? Right in the middle of a tour?? It will be interesting to see what the details are when they eventually come out. They seemed to have fun on stage.
I truly hope Floor Jansen becomes the permanent replacement; she has an awesome voice. (...or perhaps a Tarja comeback?) |

btw it's only until the end of the tour replacement .... but i can see future collaboration
After Forever - Emphasis actually i would be pissed if it didn't go further but i wouldn't mind a contest with Liv Kristine i mean Leave's Eye - My Destiny was great and she also does deliver the opera-like voice that the Tarja fans want .... and she did collaborate on my favorite Cradle of Filth video song Nymphetamine ( video is 5 min , original song is 9 min ) ![]() Last edited by Dirtyfrog; 10-04-2012 at 10:55 PM.. |

As for Leaves Eyes... eh, I just never warmed up to her. Her voice sounds too wispy to me. |

I listened to the new Devin Townsend Project album Epicloud today. Holy shit was that good. It reminds me more of his early stuff like Infinity or Ocean Machine. Of the four previous DTP albums, the only one I really liked was Addicted, and now this one.
Devin Townsend is a freaking workhorse. I discovered him back in 2003 with Accelerated Evolution. Since then, he has put out nine albums between all his bands. (Well, to be honest, I first found out about him when he was in Steve Vai's band, but I forgot all about that as they only put out one album. But they both appeared on Headbanger's Ball, and Devin was hilarious.) |

Anyone hear the new Between The Buried and Me album that comes out on Tuesday (Oct 9). I have only heard some samples and it sounds epic. Lay Your Ghosts To Rest seems to be the track, but like their other albums, they have some over 10 minute tracks that will surely have some amazing guitar tracks! Cant wait to own this album on Tuesday (Already have it pre-ordered from Amazon)

While I still dig metal, this is 90% of the reason I go to trance and other EDM shows and not metal. =(

well , she didn't get the Nightwish spot ( a mistake imo ) but she did rise to be the most versatile singer around i know of.
1. Leave's Eyes (symphonic metal)-Elegy 2. Cradle of Filth (black/death metal)-Nymphetamine 3. Theater of Tragedy (industrial)-Let You Down i think i'm in love ..... ![]() |

I´ve been getting a bit into Lord Vicar, they got the guitarist from Reverend Bizzare plus the first vocalist of Count Raven teaming up, pretty nice stuff if you like your doom. Another awsome doom band I came across lately is Revelation, also well worth listening to. You can get most of their albums on their website for free.
Other recent spins: Sarcofago I.N.R.I. Mystifier Wicca Kreator Pleasure to kill Electric Wizard Let us prey all classics in my book. |

The 69 Eyes - "X" - great album, but too bad it's so short. I just discovered these guys recently and I love them.
Testament - Dark Roots of the Earth - just started listening to this and it's great (75 minutes!). I always liked Testament, but never really developed strong feelings for them. I loved Low, and Demonic was good, but veered into death metal territory a little to much for me. |

some cool metal news for metal in 2012
-Anthrax's song "Got The Time" was the first heavy metal song played on the planet Mars. The song "was one of several songs on NASA's wake-up playlist for the Mars Rover, Curiosity, that touched down on the Red Planet August 5th." -Iron Maiden's 1982 album The Number of the Beast won 9.2% of the 30,000 votes cast in the UK for their favorite British album of the past 60 years. |

I know I haven't posted in this thread in a long ass time but allow me to make up for that by posting my favorite albums of the year, seeing as we've only a few days left until the new year. If you ask me, this year was phenomenal in terms of releases. Looking back I probably spent way more money than I should have on music but fuck it, no regrets. No way is this list in any particular order by the way:
Saint Vitus - Lillie: F-65 Incantation - Vanquish in Vengeance Candlemass- Psalms For the Dead Hooded Menace - Effigies of Evil Pallbearer - Sorrow and Extinction Dragged Into Sunlight - Widowmaker Kilslug - Sins, Tricks and Lies Meshuggah - Koloss Profetus - ...to Open the Passages in Dusk High on Fire - De Vermis Mysteriis haarp - Husks Napalm Death - Utilitarian Melvins - Freak Puke Witchsorrow - God Curse Us Lord Mantis - Pervertor |

One of the best metal releases I bought in 2012 was the new Periphery album. Now that's a tight band.
