what is your fave movie genre?

I'd just like to know what kind of a story do you guys prefer and is there a particular genre or style/formulae you usually stick to when writing? Also its the Easter hols and I'm bored so to fill some free time untill its my turn on A.K.A, i'll be glad if you sent me some of your scripts to read through, I'll let you know what I think.

I mostly write Character driven dramas. I also like Crime drama/actions like True Romance and Pulp Fiction.

Comedies are the most fun for me but drama's are the most rewarding.

i like thrillers, but they have to have a plot that suprises me. i don't really like writing them, for some reason. i like writing dramas and other types of movies with an actual meaning and purpose.

I like character-driven stories. Drama mostly. I find it ahrd to make people laugh and when you write a story that is 'supposdly funny' and no-one laughs then how do u feel?? SHIT.
I like crime aswell. Pulp Fiction, The Godfather etc. and after i finish my current story i will write a crime story.

God dont you just LOVE writing scripts????

I love Horror and I think it's a hard genre to write. There is such a wide range of sub-genres from Devils to Slashers and it seem every idea is taken...I have also been getting into Sc-fi latety

SciFi/Horror/Action (I prefer a combo of the three, like "Aliens").

I think probably the hardest to write are Sci-fi and character dramas. The first needs a lot of creativity and the latter needs complex characters.

I haven't really tried writing many different kinds, but I have a feeling character dramas are going to me my niche. I like details, quirks, etc. I like creating subtext. I like making one character's word come back to him later in the story. I like presenting a new side of an emotion that people don't usually think about.

I also like comedies alot, but I haven't tried writing one yet. I do have a few ideas for some though.

BLACK COMEDY, most of the best films I have ever viewed come from this genre and thus my appreciation for writing it. Action is crap too write. Nice to watch though.

I'll always be an action buff, even if these days they're either a) predictable, b) "Yeah, right", or c) both.

I tend to stay away from dramas that are extremely character-driven with minimal plot, as plot is integral to a good film. Things that are about 50/50 rest very well with me, like "Requiem for a Dream", "The Shawshank Redemption" or the first half of "From Dusk Till Dawn".

I've always been a sucker for epic adventures. Stuff like Indiana Jones. I like movies that have those classic elements mixed in. Kinda like The Mummy.
