I've always loved the bad guys and thats the only way I see this series ending just like in old series. The Terminator died, Neo died, Anakin died. Thats why I want him to die...

Killing off Harry would be a terrible way to end the series.

I like the title also. I am very curious to see how she ends it, and where she takes the book. It will probably be very dark because the ending to the last book was excellent and dark.

I don't read the books, but I love the movies.

In saying that, can you imagine this:

Hermione and Harry are sitting in a room. Ron walks in...

Ron: Hello Hermione.

Hermione lets a gasp and falls to the floor dead.

Harry: Hello Ron.

Ron wheezes and keels over, dead.

Seamus walks in.

Seamus: Whoa! What happened here?
Harry: Oh, hello Seamus.

Seamus grabs his chest and falls over................dead.

You see, because its Harry Potter & The Deathly "Hello's".

Get it? BUAWAHAHAHA!!

Rowling has made it clear she does not follow the guidelines in creating children's fiction. She has already killed off multiple main characters in previous books.

Killing off Harry might make alot of kids cry, but it seems fitting to end the series. Plus it would keep other writers from raping the book series by creating new story arcs around him.

However Harry ends up, I look forward to the last book.

Unrelated to the seventh book, just a general inquiry, but something occured to me today; I'm reading "The Half-Blood Prince" right now and I've gotta wonder, why all of this speculation about who is and isn't a Death Eater? Why doesn't the Ministry just go around and check everyone's left arm and arrest anyone with the Dark Mark on them? Honestly, it's just common sense...

even though the ministry can do amazing things I think rounding every wizard and checking their arms would be almost impossible. and wasnt there other reformed deatheaters other than snape with the mark?

i also harry hope harry bites it in the end. since the series has grown so much mature from its inception its understandable that JK would go to the cliched, but sometimes heart breaking death of a hero.

HARRY POOTER AND THE PRISONER'S ASS CAN BURN

You wouldn't have to round them up per se, but if you're investigating someone and you want hard evidence (or want to know if you're barking up the wrong tree), asking them to roll up their sleeve seems like the fastest, most efficient way to get it.

I would have thought that Death Eaters would have a means of hiding the mark (it's just common sense after all), but the scene with Draco trying to keep his arm out of sight in the robe shop makes me think otherwise.

Having finished "Half-Blood Prince", I have one or two thoughts:

1. Awful book. Sometime after "Goblet of Fire" Rowling seems to have forgotten how to plot a novel.

2. She sure seems to have her work cut out for her if she wants to tie up all the loose ends in "Deathly Hallows".

3. You know it's downright alarming how fast I became a Harry Potter geek...

The Times Online and The Observer have both released new interviews with the Harry Potter actor.

Of particular interest to book fans, the latter website provides an interesting experience Dan had with Jo during one of her OOTP set visits:

"Jo came down to the set at one point and I said, "Oh hello, why are you here today?" And she said, "Oh I just needed a break from the book - Dumbledore's giving me a lot of trouble." And I said, "But isn't he dead?" And she said, "Well, yeah, but it's more complex ..." I was like, [briskly] "OK, I'm not gonna ask anything else!""
I wonder exactly WHO she's talking about.....

Sorry, I call bullshit - JK Rowling isn't going to "take a break" from writing this book, then visit the OOTP movie set, and spill her guts, or for that matter need to be stopped from spilling her guts. I'm pretty sure after writing the first 6 books, and keeping them from leaking out early or details remaining so closely guarded, that she can do the same for the last book in this series.

Ahh, but the fact that it's a quote from Dan Radcliffe does support the suggestion that JKR said it FAR more than it just being a rumour.

Quote:
"Harry has been burdened with a dark, dangerous and seemingly impossible task: that of locating and destroying Voldemort’s remaining Horcruxes. Never has Harry felt so alone, or faced a future so full of shadows. But Harry must somehow find within himself the strength to complete the task he has been given. He must leave the warmth, safety , and companionship of The Burrow and follow without fear or hesitation the inexorable path laid out for him…

In this final, seventh installment of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling unveils in spectactular fashion the answers to the many questions that have been so eagerly awaited. The spellbinding, richly woven narrative, which plunges, twists and turns at a breathtaking pace, confirms the author as a mistress of storytelling, whose books will be read, reread and read again."

Quote:
"Harry is waiting in Privet Drive. The Order of the Phoenix is coming to escort him safely away without Voldemort and his supporters knowing – if they can. But what will Harry do then? How can he fulfill the momentous and seemingly impossible task that Professor Dumbledore has left him with?"

Roll on July 21!

UK Kid's cover looks FUCKING TERRIBLE.

US cover looks FUCKING BRILLIANT.

This is a British franchise, you'd think Rowling would want their cover to look at least as good if not better then our's.

I guess I'm in the minority. Not a fan of the US cover art at all. It looks pretty but for the final book the actual content of the picture is a little too ordinary for me.
