EraserHead?

I'm only half way through this film and plan to watch the rest tonight but can someone explain what this movie is supposed to mean. I feel so far that this movie with it's dark imagery and trippy characters can be left up to interpretation for it's meaning. I like to here what people think about certain scenes. So far i think it's a well made film and after a few times watching it i think i will understand what it's all about.

It's simple: Henry has just died at the beginning of the movie and the rest is his journey thru Hell (a bizarre recreation of the life he once knew) and ultimately his redemption...

henry is def not dead in the beginning sir....

the beginning is a symbol of sexual intercourse... then he finds out that they had a baby and it was premature, and we won't ruin the rest yet for this man

I love Eraserhead. I mean I've seen it plenty of times and still don't know what the hell is going on, but the film is just so surreal and moody that I love it and can watch it countless times.
