Walls

hey guys, i've uploaded the my latest short to spike tv. Unfortunately it's only flash player quality and the colors are very washed out. Does anyone know a better video platform?

Here a short synopsis:
Lisa and Lars celebrate their break-up when they paint the walls of their former apartment.

We shot the short last summer in a rather improvisational approach without any budget. We borrowed the camera from our video lab and used a friend's apartment. It's meant as a mixtape that you would give your friends. Waende means "Walls" but it also sounds like a German word for "turning-point".

Don't expect too much, it's just some friends doing their thing with crappy audio. I've put English subtitles in it.

click HERE or for the vimeo clip (the upload has a better contrast and color grading) HERE

Fucking awesome, straight up. Budget restraints notwithstanding, you guys told a really beautiful tale here. It reminds me of Tykwers Winter Sleepers. Honestly, really touching. I'd recommend sending this out to film festivals.

really liked it... simple but beautiful story... liked the inter-mixing of flashbacks and animation as well

i have a short question that concerns me.

Is it working or not working that the main characters get married, even if it is not meant seriously? It's interesting, some people say it sort of destroys the whole film. I just need another opinion.

Hi everyone,

WAENDE is now one of the 132 chosen from 1500 entries at Rutger Hauer's I'VE SEEN FILMS competition. The judges include Sir Ridley Scott and Richard Gere.

You can see and vote for it here: http://video.tiscali.it/inshort/Icfi...deo/15791.html

In order to vote, you have to register on the page. Please feel free to spread the word, I'd really appreciate it. The first two films will be shown in Milan at the ceremony in September. Hope you like it.
