How many films can you remember where one of the main characters was a Mad Scientist?

The first one to come to mind was this one:

Mad Scientist: Dr. Fronkensteen

Film: Young Frankenstein

Invention: The Creature.

Mad Scientist Moment: When he locks himself up with his creature to try and bond with it, at the risk of loosing his life.

Mad Scientist: Dr. Emmet Brown

Film: Back to the Future Trilogy

Invention: Time Traveling DeLorean

Mad Scientist Moment: When he uses the plutonium given to him by Lybian terrorists to make his time traveling machine.

Yeah, he was mad alright...that mind reading machine he invented in 1955 was hilarious. Not to mention he got the plutonium for the time machine from a group of Lybian terrorists!

Mad Scientist: Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum)

Film: The Fly (1986)

Invention: The Telepods

Mad Scientist moment: When he is transports himself as a means of testing his teleportation machines, thus melding himself with a common house fly. And consequently becoming...Brundle Fly!

Mad Scientist Moment: "Oh, in the name of God! Now I know what it feels like to be God!"

Mad Scientist: Septimus Pretorius

Film: Bride of Frankenstein

Invention: miniature human beings

Mad Scientist Moment: "To a new world of gods and monsters!"

Mad Scientist: Julius Kelp

Film: The Nutty Professor (1963)

Invention: a formula that makes you more handsome

Mad Scientist Moment: transformation sequence

Film: Barbarella (1968)

Invention: The Excessive Machine

Mad Scientist Moment: Just before he is going to turn "The Excessive Machine" on and "torture" Barbarella by given her extremely powerful orgasms, he tells her: "I'll do things to you that are beyond all known philosophies!"

Film: Blade Runner (1984)

Invention: Nexus Six Replicants

Mad Scientist Moment: His explenation for controlling replicants: "We began to recognize in them a strange obsession. After all, they are emotionally inexperienced, with only a few years in which to store up the experiences which you and I take for granted. If we gift them with a past, we create a cushion or a pillow for their emotions, and consequently, we can control them better."

Film: Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

Invention: A young man with blond hair and a tan known as Rocky.

Mad Scientist Moment: "It was strange the way it happened. Suddenly... you get a break! All of the pieces seem to fit into place. What a sucker you've been, what a fool. The answer was there all the time. It took a small aciddent to make it happen. AN ACCIDENT! And that is how I discovered the secret. That elusive ingredient, that... spark that is the breath of life... yes I have that knowledge! I hold the key to life... ITSELF!"
