Adele's Bond Song is.......

[We already found out Adele will be singing the title song for Skyfall and now Roger Friedman has declared it "classic 007" referring to it as "an ominous, dramatic ballad, with lots of gorgeous horn flourishes peeking out through Adele's now trademark vocals." He also reveals the following song introduction and chorus line:

This is the end
Hold your breath and count to ten
Feel the Earth move and then
Hear my heart burst again

Let the sky fall
Let it crumble
We will stand tall
And face it all
together

The single will launch the first week of October and will be titled "Let the Sky Fall"

Loving the theme by the way, nice hark back to some of the Bond tunes of old. Skyfall is shaping up to be a serious contender for my favourite Bond at the moment. Really hope it doesn't disappoint.

Adele's voice fits perfectly for a Bond theme. The lyrics aren't groundbreaking but the contrasting hope and gloom in her voice is perfect for something like this. The theme is the tits.

i did my part

still .... Heineken wtf !!!!! James Bond = martini

dont' get me wrong .. the casino royale ad for Heikenen was great

but paying that shitload of money to make it the official drink of JB ... that rattles me

already have Jim Caviezel pictured as the next James Bond .... then again maybe i'm pushing my luck for my next meme in 2016.

The song is not bad, but they all sound the same.

well James Bond is cuban cigar and researched drink stereoptype.... lounge music always fitted best. So yeah , don't expect some Skrillex in there.

Producers could have thrown a death metal song if they wanted ..... but even as a death metal lover , i don't want this. Even as a open-minded person , James Bond only works within certain rules .... the theme song being one !

Soundtrack for 'Skyfall' gets a release date

There's been no shortage of Skyfall news in the last few days with James Bond turning 50 on Friday. We've already heard Adele's theme song and now comes word on composer Thomas Newman's soundtrack, which Sony Classical will release overseas on October 29 and in the U.S. on November 6 (You can pre-order the CD at Amazon*). Thanks to Film Music Reporter**.

Opening internationally on October 26, the film will debut in IMAX theaters in North America on November 8 and conventional theaters on November 9.

note: There will be a total of 30 song on Thomas Newman's soundtrack. The theme "Let the Skyfall" by Adele will not be appearing on the soundtrack.
I removed the listing so not to spoiler anything major. The list can be looked at on ether filmmusicreporter.com or commingsoon.net (links are provided). I also, added the official cover art for the soundtrack.

I wonder why composer David Arnold is not doing this one?

This just screened and it sounds like Mendes knocked it out of the park. Go to Twitter for reactions and links to reviews.

David Arnold isn't doing the music? WTF?

Theme song is pretty good, but, boy, do they really force the word "Skyfall" in there a lot. The lyrics, though not as flat out stupid as Thunderball, make little sense. It reminds me a bit of the vastly underrated theme to The World is not Enough.

This thing is starting to get some great buzz...

I'm not one to read reviews much I just like to keep a check on whats the Positive-Negative tally...

13 Positive to 0 Negative as of right now on Rotten Tomatoes and IGN giving out this praise on the villain (FireCaptain has the link above):

"Javier Bardem’s Raoul Silva, who must immediately rank as one of Bond’s greatest villains. I can pay him no higher compliment than by drawing comparisons with Heath Ledger’s rendition of The Joker."

Wow thats quite high praise, and as of the trailers I've seen they only show a few glimpses of Bardem....hopefully this lives up to the building hype!

I knew Bardem would deliver on the villain front. Even Mendes petitioned to have Bardem for the role because he had a goal of making one of he most memorable Bond villains, I think he's accomplished that goal. I'm definitely seeing this in IMAX.
