I'm not gonna dissect that list. That would take way too long. I'll just say I'm happy Dr. Doom is so high, because he's always been one of my favorites, and I'm happy Magneto beat Joker, as I always found him much more interesting. I kind of wish Thanos was a bit higher, and I'm dumbfounded that no Spidey villains made the top 10.

it's a great list no doubt and i have been following it the last week or so, it made for great reading. i found out that omega red was infact a child rapist in his past which was pretty shocking, child rape aside i love that crazy cat

personally i wouldn't of had magneto so high but i can understand why he made the top slot. number one villain for me would have to be someone completely evil and magneto aint really that

Not a half bad list. A few of them I would move a couple spaces but over all it's decent.

I have a little trouble with Magneto in the #1 spot, but when I think about it when I think of "Greatest Villain EVER" there is no single bad guy that comes to mind.

My list would probably have 1 through 4 tied for the number one spot.

the more I think about it, the more I realize they need a clearer definition of "villain" before I can say whether or not Magneto should be 1. I mean, he's the best character out of all of them: he's deep, he's powerful, he has a great backstory, he's always interesting, he's relatable... but half the time, he's not even evil. Heck, there are stories where he's actually the leader of the X-Men (Age of Apocalypse, for example).

If they want the most diabolical villains, Magneto would have to be behind at least Doom and Joker. Doom has always impressed me, because he's managed to go head on with some of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel universe and stand his ground (the way he manipulated Silver Surver was brilliant).

Very nice list. I'll grant that if the idea is "Most awe inspiring" villain, then Magneto probably isn't the top guy (although he's a solid top 10 choice.) Under that definiton, Apocalypse, Darkseid and Galactus are all ahead of him.

If you mean the most compelling and fully formed...then Erik Lensherr is your man. Turning him from a standard issue bug eyed megalomaniac into one of the most complex, interesting, compelling and just plain cool characters in the Marvel universe is one of Chris Claremont's greatest accomplishments.

That's a pretty solid list. I'm a especially happy that The Govenor from The Walking Dead made it on there, he truly was an evil villian.

Agreed--Norman Osbourne should've at least been top 10 if not top 5.

Isn't Kingpin often a villain of Spidey?

He made the 10 spot.

Thats a good list. I would've made Dr. Doom number 1. But I can see why Mags would get the top spot.

He has appeared numerous times in Spidey, but he's really Daredevil's nemesis.

I agree with the thoughts that Norman Osborne should have made the top 10 at least, though.
