Favorite Animal Attack Films
What are your favorite nature gone amok films that have animals killing a bunch of people?
Excluding Jaws because it is probably the best one out of all of them. My favorite is Piranha. |

I first saw Arachnophobia like 20 yrs ago and thought it was cool at the time. Then I recently caught it on TV and found it to be really cheesy.
Rogue was a very pleasant surprise tho. Odd how no one mentions The Birds by Hitchcook. Haven't seen it myself but it seems like a rather obvious choice, no? Oh and Willard remake is cool also. Last edited by WhatsInaName; 07-21-2010 at 04:45 AM.. |

My top 5 fave:
5. Birds The very first Hitchcock movie I ever saw. During my early years on this planet, my dad used to pack our family into the panel-sided Buick station wagon & take us to the drive-in theatre where we were exposed to alot of those 70's campy "when animals attack" movies, like Food Of The Gods, Night Of The Leapus, Swarm, etc... Goofy escapist fare of whose cheese I ended up developing a taste for. Therefore, as a kid, when my young eyes first gazed upon this film on the ol' boob tube, my obvious initial reaction was along the lines of something like "Coo-hoooooollll.... Kinda like the movie 'Frogs!'! Except with birds!" ![]() 4. Them! Ants. Atomic radiation. Mutational effects. The desert. You do the math. ![]() 3. Arachnophobia Here's a far out fact: Statistics show that the average human will eat 8 spiders while asleep during their lifetime. Sleep well tonight, everyone. ![]() 2. From Dusk Till Dawn It's bad enough when an innocent family finds themselves in the midst of the carnage & blood of a hidden coven of cravenous, murderous vampires, but then on top of that, they also have to face the snake-cradling Selma Hayek & her formidably perfect puppies. ![]() 1. Jaws The summer blockbuster that started the concept of the summer blockbuster with a tale of a shark that acts as a reminder that at some point in life, we're ALL gonna need a bigger boat. ![]() |

Piranha 3D will friggin rock!
I love man vs. nature movies and this has to be one of my all time favorites. Earlier this week I came across a trailer and a website that has been set up for the new Piranha 3D film. Basically looks like Jaws but with lots of hungry evil piranhas that want to take spring break and ruin it. There is that one dude from Back to the Future playing a scientist again, and the director is the same guy who did "The Hills Have Eyes". This looks like an epic journey and the fact that it is 3d makes it even radical. Trailer says it comes out in August. Super super stoked for this one! Piranha reborn as Piranha 3D.
