I might rank them later but ten Christmas movies I always watch around Christmas time are:

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
A Christmas Story
It's A Wonderful Life
Bad Santa
The Ref
Miracle On 34th Street (47)
The Polar Express
Scrooged
Home Alone
Ernest Saves Christmas

Films like Die Hard and Gremlins might take place during Christmas, but they really have nothing to do with the Holiday.

That's why I loved them b/c they're about crazy shit going on around the holidaze instead of the holiday itself (which I hate BTW, can't you tell) but if I had to get all schmaltzy about it: IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE! from what I can remember watching it as a kid!

And I'm adding two to my original list:

11. EYES WIDE SHUT
12. LOVE ACTUALLY

Amen to that! I fucking hate that movie! A truly overrated "sleeper classic"...if you wanna stick with a Bob Clark production, always go with the original BLACK CHRISTMAS, one of the five best slashers of all-time!

I'll do a list later but I will say the most underrated christmas movie ever is Surviving Christmas. Most people hate it but I found it to be wickedly funny.

Just saw Fred Clause last night. Liked that one a lot too.

Why is everybody spelling Claus with an 'e'???? It's spelled like that in those "Santa Clause" movies because they refer to actual clauses, i.e. it's a pun.

Just saw The Ref the other night. It kind of rides the line between "Christmas movie" and "movie that takes place at Christmas", but I found it very funny and well written.
