Do you have pets?

Are you an animal person? Are you owned by any animals?

I ask because we have cats. (I say that like it's something contagious. "Shit, honey...seems we've got a nasty case of cats!" ...on second thought....) They're also known as "The Babies", because they're spoiled rotten minous who take up entirely too much of our home/money/attention. Emma is a 6 year old tabby who we refer to as "Stripes" or "Wretched", depending on the day. Harley Quinn is a 6 month old Seal Point Siamese who also goes by "Mew", "Miss Mew", or "Harleen Quinzell".

We're currently "in talks" regarding the acquisition of an English Bulldog. We shall see how that goes. The Husband (Bourahioro here, for those who aren't aware) wants to get a male and name him "Dr Jaws". Because I am an indulgent and sometimes enabling wife, I am perfectly alright with this. Of course, the fact that I also want a girl to name "Princess Sofia Von Huffington" doesn't hurt his chances.

So there you have it - our menagerie. Who else has pets?

I've got one cat - Scout.

We got her a few months after she was born and this year she turned 14.

She's also spoiled rotten.

I don't own pets but its more out of my fear of not being able to provide for them (i have a hard enough time doing it for myself) then any kind of dislike for them.

Though if i did i'd want a pet that doesn't shed that's my only big thing. If i have to get something that shed's it's just never aloud in my bedroom.

My missus has 2 cats though, so if we end up shacking up together i guess i'll have 2 cats then, heh.

I have a dog, a Daschund named Roscoe, he's not at my house at the moment, I gotta go to my Aunt's house and go get him. He's adorable. I'll post pics of him in a little bit.

Puggos!

My Lovely Wife and I own a most Beautiful Pug Canine, She's 8 years old, but she still is confused for much younger by other people who've seen her, We really wouldn't know how to live, if our little "Piglet" (Various other knicknames) wasn't around in our life, she means the world to us, Pugs are so close to their owners, I mean silly close! God Bless to all the Dog owners out there, especially families that have Pug(s)!

Dogs are pretty amazing creatures. I have a cat and a dog. I love them both, but the bond between man and dog is above and beyond that with any other creature I have seen.

I had a Siamese cat that my mom got me when I was 6 - She lived until I was 27 (21 years old).

The cats we have now are awesome, though Harley Quinn is slightly demented. We bought the cats stuffed mice and Emma (stripey cat) puts one either in my boxers on the floor or on the end of the bed between my feet (while we're sleeping).

I have a Boxer but due to my wife's allergies, he lives with my parents. I bought him ten years ago, but when my wife stopped being able to breathe, it was time to give him up...

Don't see him as much as I would like, but he's still my dog.

Yep.

This is my Great Dane, she's two and a half. I treat her like my daughter. She means more to me than everyone I know, save for like a handful of people. I'm not sure I'll ever get another breed of dog.

Sorry, I have no idea how to post pics, I suck at life.

I also have a cat that just turned 14 . Very cool!

Got her from the Humane Society when I was a kid. She is quite big and eats a ton. Great pet that just likes to lounge around the apartment. Definitely encourage folks looking to get a cat/dog to go check out the pound. Lots of great animals there.

I have a gerbil named Danny Glover and a hampster named Cedric the Entertainer. They live in the same cage and get along pretty well.

I like small animals.

I have 2 cats.

Callie - a calico who is 14 years old, a fatass and a total bitch. She sits around and does nothing except eat and sleep and grumble at people, and my other cat, that come near her. She's worthless and while I used to love her, I don't anymore because I'm sick of her shit.

Carl - an 8 month old tiger cat who I couldn't possibly love any more then I already do. He wants to play all the time, is very curious about stuff, loves to climb up and sit on my lap or put his front paws over my shoulder and just kinda hang there, he comes when he is called, plus he's extremely freaking cute.

It's like different worlds in my house.

Had a dog named Pucky (when we got her, she was just black fur and was the size of a hockey puck), got her in '92 and she lived til '06.
Had more attitude than any dog I've ever known.
Would turn you into the authorities for a piece of cheese.
Was a wonderful dog.

Would love to get another one but not until I'm ready (mentally and can give the dog time to bond with me).

I buried my best friend, my dog, last week.

I saved Lucky from an abusive household more than 10 years ago and he never forgot it. The perfect mutt dedicated his life to me entirely, loving unconditionally and never judging. All that he asked for in return were rigorous belly rubs, cuddling between my wife and I on the couch, and the not-so-occasional bacon treat.

God, I miss him.

Dr. Hunter S. Bleaglador, my gf and i's 2 year old black lab/beagle mix. a bleaglador if you will.
he was a rescue from a puppy mill, where the owner was trying to make a breed of labrador that would stay puppy size. he succeeded, he's about 35lbs, and only a little taller than a beagle. sadly though, the owner was a piece of shit, and had 80 dogs all sharing a 20' squared cage. thankfully he was shut down, and his puppies were sent to shelters around the east coast.
when we got him, he was completely people scared, and refused to eat for the first week. and we found out that his tail had been broken twice at the puppy mill, which would probably be a pretty big part to play in his fear of people.

fortunately we were able to break him of being afraid of people, and within 2 months, he absolutely adored getting attention from people.

I am really sorry to hear that. Animals bring unconditional love and when they are gone, it leaves a void that is hard to fill.

My daughter surprised me with this gift of two Budgies

Geez they are cute one boy and one girl and they get up to so much mischief in there cage
it is different having tow of them and the things they get up to are so funny
it is better than having one Budgie

You have a bird and a dog in a cage together? How is that anything other then animal cruelty? It's sick is what it is. Absolutely sick.
