Your political quote of the day.

Basically you can quote a policitician (including world leaders) or simply somebody speaking of politics in general. Preferably one per day for each individual schmoe. Make sure to credit the person who said it as well.

Unarmed people make good corpses.

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."--Theodore Roosevelt

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

We have become a Nazi monster in the eyes of the whole world -- a nation of bullies and bastards who would rather kill than live peacefully. We are not just Whores for power and oil, but killer whores with hate and fear in our hearts. We are human scum, and that is how history will judge us . . . . No redeeming social value. Just whores. Well the ACLU was started by a bunch of commies, so he's not far off.

Anyway, someone posted a James Traficant quote. Traficant is probably my favorite politician to ever live. He ran for reelection from federal prison and still got something like 30%. Here are some favorites from him:

" Madam Speaker, an investigation revealed that 16,000 IRS employees illegally used their computers. The report states IRS agents spent 50 percent of their time at work on personal business. If that is not enough to service your revenue, IRS agents illegally used their computers for shopping, stock trading, gambling and pornography. Unbelievable.

Think about it. While 60 percent of taxpayer calls to the IRS go unanswered, the IRS agents were watching Marilyn Chambers do the Rotary International. Beam me up here. It is time to pass a flat 15 percent sales tax and abolish this gambling, porno-watching IRS completely.

I yield back the internal rectal service of the United States of America. "

"Mr. Speaker, the endangered sucker fish is living up to its reputation, sucking the livelihood from 1,400 farmers in Oregon. That is right. This protected bottom feeder now has more rights than farmers out there. If that is not enough to fry your mackerel, this region has now been without irrigated water since April, turning 200,000 acres of farmland into near desert.

Beam me up. Stop this sucker fish crusade. Free these farmers.

I yield back the fact that this sucker fish sucks. "

"News reports say after a game-winning goal at a soccer match in Spain, a player celebrated his teammate who scored by biting him on the genitals.
Beam me up. Now I have heard of high fives, back slaps, butt slaps, but this takes the family jewels. The team says the player is doing fine, but I suspect he will speak from here on in like a soprano. This is going a little too far. I yield back what has now become known as "The Big Bite."

"These individuals unwittingly illustrated one of the most pernicious
truths of modern liberalism: that while self-described liberals claim, ad
nauseum, that they support freedom of speech, the truth is that they only support free speech as long as the content of that speech is acceptable to them."

I still think it's fucking studip. Along with a strong hunch that O'Reilly dosen't know that little factoid, Hitler wasn't a commie. Also, why the hell would totalitarian leaders be obsessed with helping something dedicated to improving civil liberties and freedom, let alone one from a country that isn't their's.

Oh, and uh, please only use one phrase per day in the future.

"In Texas, we have the death penalty and we USE it! That's right, if you kill someone, we will kill you back...it's our policy! The Texas Legislature is trying to pass a law where if you kill somebody and there are more than three credible eye witnesses, you don't wait on death row for fifteen years, Jack. You go straight to the front of the line. Most states are trying to outlaw the death penalty. My state's putting in an express lane."

ACLU does none of that but its an argument for another thread.

Cruse you John, I was going to use that Ho Chi Minh quote!

And Scorpio24, your supposed to only post one quote per day.

If the right people had been in charge of Nixon's funeral, his casket would have been launched into one of those open-sewage canals that empty into the ocean just south of Los Angeles. He was a swine of a man and a jabbering dupe of a president. Nixon was so crooked that he needed servants to help him screw his pants on every morning. Even his funeral was illegal. He was queer in the deepest way. His body should have been burned in a trash bin.
