Paranormal Activity 3 (2011)

Quote:
A couple are pursued by an evil spirit in their own home. In an attempt to unveil the mystery, they install cameras throughout the house to capture the strange paranormal activity occurring.
Trailer (Possible 'scare' Spoilers):
http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/this...s-some-scares-

Directors: Henry Joost, Ariel Schulman
Writers: Christopher B. Landon, Oren Peli (characters)
Stars: Katie Featherston, Sprague Grayden and Mark Fredrichs

Surprisingly, I gotta say...I'm actually lookin' forward to this one!

Even with the constant found footage movies being released, for some reason the original just felt different and I really enjoyed it. With it's success, we quickly got a sequel that just felt rushed and uninspired. Paranormal Activity 2 just didn't live up to the hype and overall, it just didn't have the same effect as the first one had on me.

Now we're going back to where it all began and I'm back on board after seeing the most recent trailer that was just released (Posted above). The sisters troubled past has constantly been referenced in the series so it only makes sense to see how it all played out and what really happened.

So what's everyones thoughts on this? Looking forward to it? Or is it one to skip?

Can't wait to see it. I hardly go to the theatre anymore, and the last time I think I went was about 11 months ago maybe? Can't remember.

(NEXT PART CONTAINS SPOILER FROM THE SECOND PARANORMAL ACTIVITY MOVIE)

Anyway, this is one I'm definitely going to see in theatre's. Loved the first two movies, so I'm excited to see this one as well... I like how it's going back as a "prequel" - But I also hope they also show where Katie has taken the baby from the end of Part 2 as well.

I hate this franchise. PA1 was ok. PA2 was crap. Why do we need yet another PA movie?

I couldn't even finish the first film, so this is waay off my radar.

I like these, cheap thrills, good jump scares, and they don't need blood and guts to pull it off. When we aren't watching useless back and forth banter between family members to build character, these films actually create a nice tense atmosphere. All the reviews are saying that the third entry is the best so far. The second film may have the greatest jump scare in film history with the kitchen scene.

I can prefer this franchise over Saw, that's for damn sure. I enjoyed Paranormal Activity (the one time I saw it), and I have the second one on my netflix queue. I think my thoughts on the second one (when I see it) will ground my stance for the third film.

I watched Paranormal activity 2 thinking that it was going to be extremely scary. I've never watched the first one. I didn't think PA2 was THAT scary. I gotta watch the first one to see how it is.

never watched either of the firs two. however, the trailer they played last time i went to the movies for this did have a few good jump spots. but that won't in all likelihood get me out to bother.

I only watched the 2nd Paranormal activity and I thought it was going to be better than what I had in mind. PA 2 let me down. I haven't watched the first one though. I'm anxious to watch this one to see what happends with the baby.

I saw the first two movies on DVD and thought they both could make a Top 10 List for "Worst Movie Ever". I don't know why I paid ten bucks to see PA3 in theaters. I suppose I thought it might "get it" if I saw it in theaters. Or maybe I was baffled by how all of these movies are "Fresh" on IMDB. Or maybe I was just suckered by the trailer (which, by the way, has numerous scenes that aren't in the movie at all).

In any case, even though I wish I could get my 90 minutes back, this probably was the best in the series. The scares never really get...scary, but at least this time we didn't have to sit for an hour just to watch the wind make a door creak.

This is absolutely a movie to watch! I think it is the best one in the series to be honest. Thumbs up from me!

Spoiler:
You don't see what happens to the baby in PA 3. It's a prequel movie of the two sisters when they're kids. It doesn't explain anything about what Heather did with baby Hunter after the second flick at all. Unfortunately. So hopefully that's what part 4 will do.
