The reason(s) I think they are doing that is because:
It's the last season and they want to milk it for all it's worth
They can release an 8-episode DVD/BR set for the same price as a regular season
It can be sold a week or two before the last half of the final season
Then they can sell the next half for the same price before releasing it as a "entire season set" for a couple bucks above the price of half the season... before making an entire box set.

I hope I'm wrong, but I am sure a lot of the reason is greed.

It would make more sense if it was a 4-6 month hiatus. But then it would fuck up the timing of sales release(s).
You're not wrong.

I suspect a Bruce Willis cameo in the first one?

Just spitballing here:

Spoiler:
perhaps "live free or die" is some sort of ultimatum that Walt gives Mike upon returning to ABQ. Something like, "you go your own way (or join me) and be free from all this, but if you choose to put up a fight, i will kill you." i know, seems pretty bold considering Mike handed Walt his ass in 402 last season, but you never know. Any predictions on how Mike will take Gus's demise?

And "madrigal".... Damn, i'm so excited. Can't wait to see Walt's raging ego bump up against these "german titans of industry".

Indeed. Even though most of us assumed this, it confirms suspicions that..
Spoiler:
...the German conglomerate that bankrolled Gus Fring, Madrigal Electromotive, will become involved

I think I like, "Hazard Pay" the most, though

Brought and watched season 4 for this past weekend and listened to every audio commentary, which there's one for every episode!
Gotta watch the extras and finish my BB music video, I'll post that when it's finished.

Season 4 with no cuts and edits was great, just another case where a show's crew should be able to do whatever they want, because they've earned it. Anyway it was great and picked up a few things I hadn't noticed like

Saul still wears the Weyferrer crash ribbon and other little things like that.

No cuts and edits? The show as it appears on TV is cut?

^Well...... things aren't done yet, awesome Walt, great job. Knowing Saul has made things work for him I wonder how he could make it all turn around.

Anyway about that other post, I meant that it was great to have some of the content that was cut out for tv standards put back in, ie like Jesse's F bomb in episode 9 and other moments like that.

The year wait between first and second part is gonna be agony. Especially since 8 episodes will go by like nothing and just as we're gaining momentum, they're gonna cut us off. Fuckers.

With Game of Thrones this season being a bit of a mixed bag, I really need a nice, long dive into Breaking Bad quality here goddammit.

As for post-Breaking Bad, as much as I don't want to think of that time, at least we know Aaron Paul will be sticking around on our TVs (provided this goes to series):

http://www.deadline.com/2012/06/hbo-...talks-to-star/

HBO + Cold War Spy Thriller + Aaron Paul = awesome. + Malcolm Gladwell = WTF (in a good way). I love spy thrillers when they're done right and the Cold War always seems to make for the best spy thrillers.

I think the rational thing would be to wait an entire extra year to watch all the episodes at once. But none of us have the willpower to do that.

I'm going to have to summon it somehow, I can't watch or download the episodes overseas...... so season 5 dvd release date? Spring-Summer 2014...........That'll be my time.
, going to ride some go karts right now.

If anyone has 9 minutes, this is season 1-4 brilliantly cut and arranged to the theme music famously used in Requiem for a Dream (and other movies/shows). Its focus is on Walter but damn, this thing gave me chills more than once.

If that's true, then this will be me:

I love rooting for the bad guy. I hope Walt wastes Hank and puts his wife on ice after she tries to rat on him to the police. I dare them to try to make Walt as bad as they want to make him because no matter what, I'm sticking with him til the end. I don't mind if they make him worse, just as long as they don't make him do stupid things like they did in the first half of season 4.

Love the shots of Walt and Jesse peering through the broken wall of blue sky. With these pictures and the recently released "All Hail the King" poster, I'd say the promotional material for the 5th season is leaps and bounds ahead of the previous season's.

Uhhh....try thinking like Walt to figure out a way to download episodes outside of the States United. I'll give you a hint: It's exceedingly easy.
