Um... Matthew Macfadyen's Voice... Wtf?

Ok. Perhaps I am a little late to the party on this one. But having just watched Paul W.S. Anderson's 2011 take on The Three Musketeers.
I have to ask-Is Athos voice normal? All through the entire film it sounded almost synthesized. It was quite distracting. Anybody else notice this.

Nobody else has seen this movie, and noticed Athos voice?

I saw it and thought the last thing I'd worry about being "wrong" was Athos' voice. The whole thing was such a mess that it detracted from even a single word that most of the cast said during any point of its' runtime.

I watched it two weeks ago and I've forgotten roughly 90% of the movie. This rarely happens for me, and in this movie's case I'm grateful.

That doesn't help you at all, but honestly I don't remember someone's voice sounding "synthesized". Among many other things I don't remember...

I had no desire to see the movie. I'm a big fan of the book and the movie looked like it was playing it up for special effects and action, instead of story and characters - which the book portrays brilliantly.
