Brooklyn's finest
I have to admit I didn't even know this film existed until I saw It on the shelves In HMV, I'm not Richard Gere or Don Cheadle's biggest fan In fact I'd go as far to say I despise Cheadle I am however a big fan of Ethan Hawke. The movie had a sort of training day look about It, a film I love & ironically also involves Hawke.
The film centers on three cops I enjoyed Gere's portrayal of a retiring cop In all probability my favorite ever performance of his. I felt Cheadle's character was least interesting & once again shocking acting on his part Cheadle talking ghetto doesn't work for me. Hawke was good but the bad cop routine is starting to become very gimmicky I therefore didn't really enjoy this part of the movie.
The movie ended a bit quickly which I didn't really like but there were certainly parts of the movie that drew me In. I'd certainly give this a recommendation going Into the last half an hour I was glued but as I said previously It did flatter to deceive.
