I don't think it's as much of a sensitivity thing as it is just a double standard - or even beyond that, people just being full of shit. Honestly, I don't believe anyone who started the political correctness debate surrounding this is earnest about it. They are just playing semantics to make people look bad as bad as they've been made to look.

To me, it's the same thing as when white people are mad about black people complaining about injustice, so white people start digging for injustices to bring up. I mean, these are things they never cared about, but suddenly they act like they care for the sake of making a point.

Atop of that ---

This never would have happened if conservatives hadn't been under fire lately for all the laws they are passing taking away women's rights.

It's like:

"Oh, you guys are assholes because you are passing laws saying women, can't take birth control, stifling laws to help them get equal pay and taking actions to lesson their ability to take time off to raise children."

"Yeah? Well, well... one of your people said that being a stay-at-home mom isn't a job. So you think stay-at-home moms don't do anything!!! Hey everyone! Did you hear that! They say stay-at-home moms don't work!!!! HEY! HEY! YOU HEAR WHAT THEY SAID!! OMG!"

True.

There's a lack of genuine dialectics and open-mindedness, and that applies to both conservatives and "progressives".

Another area ruining politics, or preventing politics from being honourable, is that politicians can legally lie, and get into power on the strength of a lie.

The ideal would be greater transparency at Government level, legally binding manifestos, and true dialectics in political discussions. It might not be the ideal for plutocrats. However, it would be the ideal for the majority.

On the subject of stay at home mums, its their choice, and other than their family its nobody else's business.

On the subject of a wealth gap, there should be a cap on wealth imho. That should apply to all in society, including investing banking dynasties. Offshore tax havens should come to an end. I'm not sure at what amount the cap should be, but I am sure this hundreds of millions and billions bullshit should end.

I believe in people having a personal wealth. I don't object to a surgeon having a comfortable home etc. But a distinction should be made between justfiable wealth and excessive wealth. On topic of the latter, I find it tragically ironic that many champagne socialists, e.g George Clooney, preach about helping others and yet really don't do as much as they could with their own wealth.

Businesses should also be capped. There are too many industries controlled by oligopolies.

I believe in a free market, but one where even the little companies can survive, and one where no company has too much of a market share.

The world really could be a healthier place if the power could only shift from the plutocrats to the majority.

Peacefully marching and boycotting certain companies in great numbers could achieve such a goal. Failing the peacefully approach, bloodthirty violence will suffice.

When one of them says something as rock stupid as what Ann Romney said, maybe we'll find out.

Don't try to play that faux color blind card on me.

That post is even better when read in the style of Jim Rockford responding to his answering machine messages.

So if people are all up in arms about what Bill Maher has to say, where's the thread dedicated to all the stupid shit Ted Nugent spews out on a semi-regular basis?

Ted Nugent has his own nationalized cable TV show? Wow, I haven't heard a peep from the man in years.

As much of prick as Bill Maher can be, he occasionally says something smart; so he gets to share his opinions on his television show. I can't say thay about Ted Nugent. Of course, he's had a lot to say in front of crowds lately and it's somehow made its way to television. And now the feds seem interested in what he has to say, albeit for very different reasons than Fox seems to have in paying attention to Bill Maher.

Thanks. I would have expected his older rants though in a google search, as they were far more numerous.

I wonder if he(Nugent) really believes all of that shit. I guess he just chooses to wantonly dismiss Romney's health care policy in Massachusetts or somebody is paying him well. LOL

Betweext the two of them though(Maher and Nugent), I find Ted much funnier. And Maher is a comedian.
