I wonder if he will do like he did with Family Guy, start off funny and then spiral into nothing but jokes about conservatives, then recreate said actions on 3 separate shows, calling them different names but using the same material.

Eh, I like him, but they could have gotten someone better.

I like him and all, it's just, this choice doesnt excite me very much.

The first 10 minutes of the show are going to be stewie and quagmire and peter talking. There will be some big band music numbers.

He could be awesome, but the choice doesn't hit me as "AWESOME!"

I just think he is getting to a point of overexposure.

I'm not that big on Family Guy, but in interviews and other hosting gigs, this guy is hilarious. His comedic timing is impeccable. I have a feeling he will knock it out of the park.

I think he's a great choice..Last year's Academy Awards show was painfully unfunny

I'll wait and see .... choice seems odd but who knows. It's not like the oscar have been interesting in a while anyway.

Agreed. MacFarlane could either be great or terrible.

It doesn't really matter to me though since I haven't cared or watched the Oscars in the past few years.

They're still important. I get that, but most of my favorites don't get nominated, so my interest is low.

The only thing I cared about last year was A Separation winning Foreign Film. It's one of the best wins for The Oscars in a while.

Same , i was cheering for "Incendies" to be the best foreign film in 2011 but a month or 2 before the ceremony , it was pretty clear it wasn't gonna win against "In A Better World" from Denmark.

My major problem is the "secrecy" part which is not so secret afterall. Too much lobbying behind the curtains.

Here's the thing I'm not a fan of Family GUy. It went waaaay down hill but I looved TED and from the public appearances I've seen him do, he seemed really funny.

In a perfect world, Trey Parker & Matt Stone world host the Oscars but last time I checked they never got invited back (after attending the awards in dresses haha)
