Imposter...did i miss this or something???

Last summer I saw a preview for a Gary Sinise movie called Imposter. Looked like a cool futuristic action thriller...about mistaken identity (insert Arnold Schwarzenegger joke here).

What happened to it?! Did i miss it?! Did it get pushed back?! what happened to this one? please need info

While vacationing in Florida over the X-mas holidays, I was in a mall and had a chance to give feedback to a survey company after having watched a 5 minute trailer for the flick. It looked kinda crappy and I really didn't understand what was going on in the preview so I basically dissed up the movie to the lady that interviewed me. Apparently alot of other people felt the same way...I'm sure this has received the 3 word kiss of death, "Straight To Video", that is. Or worse, maybe the entire project was canceled. Ouch!

I have been seeing the trailer now and then on my video rentals. It looks realy cool. Gary is a scientist who some law enforcement guy (that bad guy from the cell, if am correct) believed that an alien was going to take over his body and you know what aliens do when they come to earth (at least in the movies). I takes place in the future and to make a long story short it got postponed until.

According to the IMDb it opens April 1st this year. I read something about it and it sound great.

just checked it out on Rotten Tomatoes and they say release date is Fall 2001... I guess that's a more reliable source since anyone can edit the information on the IMDb.

I don't think it looks that great. I've seen the previews many times when I've rented movies and it said it was supposed to be coming to theatres but it looks like it deserves to be straight to video to me. In fact the first time I saw the previews I just assumed it was going to be straight to video but it said it was coming to theatres. It just looks like straight to video quality. Anyway, if it does get released into theatres it will probably be gone very fast...

I remember seeing the trailer for this in what seemed like eons ago. It was supposed to be a 2000 August release and has gotten pushed way back (reminds of me of Hard Rain, a lot of good that did). Not much expectation from me because of this delay, but I still like Gary Sinese and would love to see him in a starring role.
