Good god I knew it! I knew you'd hate it! Doesn't surprise me that you didn't like it though.

Bloodrayne - I've read many a negative review about Uwe Boll's directing ability and until now had yet to sit down to one of his offerings so I've tried to keep an unprejudiced mind.
As I sit now after a few rum's I can honestly say that is 90 mins of my life I won't get back. How he was able to get Ben Kingsley (an Oscar winner and knight of the realm) to appear along with the always fantastic Billy Zane I'll never know. Poor dialogue, fight scene's and acting. 2/10

Minor Spoilers!!!

Battle Royale II: Requiem

This film was...just wierd. I'll just state that the original is one of my favorite movies ever so going into this I had high expectations. Overall, it was a really good movie. I enjoyed the hell out of it but it didn't have the same flavor that the original had. I cared about close to none of the characters (completely opposite of the first). Yes, there were plenty more deaths but the fact that there were so many sort of made it less effective when someone did die.

It was however nice to see Shuya back and kicking ass. He was great and I cheered when I first saw him on screen. He had a great presence. I also cheered for Niroko when she showed up (too bad she was in it for about two minutes!)

One thing that I thought was missing from this one that the other one had...a Kiriyama type character. I was hoping for some crazy ass guy going ballistic. And though I knew it wouldn't happen, I kept hoping for people like Kawada, Kiriyama, and Mitsuko, to show up again.

In the end, don't watch this movie as a sequel to the spectacular Battle Royale, but as a great war movie with the youth rebelling, then you'll leave happy.

9/10

This is a fun movie, and one I always like to watch whenever I'm in the mood for just a good ol time. Plus the last twenty minutes are some of my favorite scenes.

Friday the 13 V - 6/10

It's an ok movie with some good killings throughout. I thought the twist was dumb as hell but hell, what twists aren't.

The Descent - Great movie, I'm pretty surprised. Totally mindless and I hardly knew one hot girl from another, but it's very well shot, dark, it offers some badass chicks kicking ass left and right, intense scenes, effective 'boo' scares and one hell of an ending.

8/10.

The Shinning for the first time . . .

. . . in years. Many years. I hardly remembered anything. But god-damn is this a fantastic movie. Shelley Duvall has to be one of the best actresses of the decade, I fucking love that woman and her character (extremely likable). Jack Nicholson kicks ass left and Kubrik's directing is one of the (if not the) the best in his career.

10/10.

"The Descent". Best goddamn horror movie I have seen in a LONG time. Honestly, the best dark, intense, and claustrophobic horror movie I have seen since "Alien".

The Hills Have Eyes remake - not a patch on the original. preceded by Hostel (some good looking girls. a modicum of tension but mostly overrated crap) & Wolf Creek - Girl on a stick - good, Aussy madman amusing, rest of movie Shite.
As you can perhaps guess from this post, I havent seen much to rave about in modern horror offerings (though all 3 titles mentioned are better than the donkey droppings otherwise known as SAW - I can only imagine the people raving about this crap have never seen a horror film before.................
