Just watched Basket Case in preparation for my first viewing of Basket Case 2. Great little film. I'm looking forward to more of Duane and Belial's adventures. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Just had my first viewing of Basket Case 2 and really don't feel like it held up to the greatness of the original. I guess they didn't have many routes to go with the way the first one ended but I really didn't like the house of freaks story. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I have really been knocking quite a few movies off of my must see list recently. Today this trend continued with my first time viewing of Suspiria. Really a great suspenseful little film. Hoping to check out more of Argento's stuff. Maybe some Deep Red next. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I saw Suspiria. Very creepy, great camera work and color lighting, but contains many problems. I'll go into more detail later in another thread.
7/10

But what took the cake from me today was Alfred Hitchcock's The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Creep the shit of me. I could see why some people back then found it controversial! Really awesome film.

I love doing that! I watch that and the Nightmare Franchise at least twice a year. Usually during Winter and Summer break. Ah what fun times. Ooooo looks like Summer break is coming up!

what a surprise, another shitfest from Ulli Lommel. the direction, camera work and editing are terrible and make the film unwatchable, the dialogue is laughable, repetetive and mundane, same goes for the acting

I didn't know there was an Extended Version. Is it better or worse than the regular cut?

I fucking loved that movie, I don't remember the last movie to actually creep me the fuck out like this one did. Also, where does one find the Extended Version? Is there a regular DVD somewhere?

I got a dvd of the Wicker Man. It says on it that the theatrical version is 88 minutes and the extended is 99 minutes. I haven't seen the theatrical though so I couldn't tell you what the extra scenes are.

Also, I just watched The People Under the Stairs which turned out to be better than I had expected.

Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

Busy movie day for me. First The People Under the Stair, then Shocker, and now the one that puts them to shame... THE BURNING! Recommended for any fan of the 80's slasher genre. Total greatness in the effects department. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

It looked like Wes really wanted to make Shocker into another Fred Krueger. Thank God that didnt happen. The movie is very dumb, the killer isn't scary, and if I remember correctly the death scenes are pretty lame.

Yeah, the thing is I thought it actually started off pretty well. The shit really hit the fan when Pinker was captured. I'm not going to go into details or anything because I have already posted my review in the Reviews section but this film was definitely shameless. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

THE FUNHOUSE

The promise! The potential! The....part where I realised I was being screwed. So disappointing. So many aspects of this movie I loved, so many more I didn't. A movie with a concept like this one needs to be nailed! I hate to say this, but if it was in better hands it may well have been a true classic. Where were the scares? Where were the imaginative "80's slasher death scenes"? TOBE HOOPER picks up his check and doesn't think too hard about letting us down. What a pity.

I guess I'll just have to stick to THE BURNING. Go on my son, show them how it's done!

Pan's Labyrinth isn't a horror movie... or is it?

I have to argue that Pan's Labyrinth can definitely cover the horror movie genre. All it was missing was some more tension, some taut violin strings, and even more blood (if you wanted to go that route; i thought it was plenty violent already).

The last horror i saw was 28 Weeks Later; Good movie, just not as good as the original imho.

good acting with some nice direction but there wasnt a hell of a lot to the plot and it plods along at a pretty slow pace, just sliding downhill as it heads towards the end
