Sleepaway Camp 2: Unhappy Campers

This has got to be among the shortest horror films ever. It goes by at a lightning fast speed and then ends abruptly. Entertaining and mindless fun nonetheless.

Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

INVISIBLE GHOST (7/10)

Y'know, the title is a lie, the plot doesn't make sense, several characters' behaviors are mind-bafflingly stupid...and yet this was still a pretty entertaining B-flick from the '40s.

Laughing Dead - 8/10
finally got my hands on this little bastard after seeing an article on it in Fangoria and instantly getting interested 7-8 years ago, didn't disappoint either, very interesting post apocolyptic esqe story, mostly good acting and some decent direction here and there....although the gore sequences featured in fangoria were sadly increadibly brief, the one picture that really stuck with me over all those years lasted only half a second or so

Hostel Part II

Honestly what can I say? Only the exact same thing I said about the first. It's entertaining for a good while, it takes too long to start but meanwhile I can stare at the lead's face which is just gorgeous. The directing isn't completely inept and the acting doesn't suck (unlike the first). This one didn't have the unrealistic "Rambo" phase the first one had, but had a way too over-the-top exploration at the inner workings of the bloodhound group (why the hell are there so many employees there? Exactly how 'underground' is this supposed to be?). The characters are far more likable and I actually very much liked the final scene inside the factory (lol penis). The actual ending was absolutely retarded and I wish it hadn't been there. And FUCK what's with the time being wasted with the completely useless gang of kids who are so annoying I wished they had all been viciously murdered. Onscreen this time. The 'head soccer' scene was too fucking lame.

And the biggest insult of all is the gore. The only scene that was beginning to get a little intense was soon crapped over because it got way too silly (who thought the whole blood showering would be a good idea? It's stupid). Too many characters die offscreen (and the first body found was absolutely stupid, *spoilers* Why did Paxton have to die like a goddamned pussy?) Somehow the first is more intense and gorier than this one. Didn't you learn from your reviews, Roth?

Either way, overall, this was a better film than the first, but it's very fucking far from being a good movie. VERY far.

6/10.

The Blob (1988)

I haven't seen it in like 18 years.
Still very entertaining, but only in the line of Slither as opposed to the likes of Body Snatchers.

Finally saw Cronos!! 9/10 Rented it - now to find to find it for my very own without paying a smal fortune for it.

Also Breed - I liked it, although it succumbed to a couple of annoying horror cliches, one offensive in the racial department, another clearly showing that the director just didn't know how he was going to end the movie. Still, 8/10

And the first Nightmare on Elm Street for the first time - very cool, stands the test of time. 8/10

He's black. If you're talking about the difference in how they've aged that is. Now it's another typical stereotype and I don't mean to make this sound like some kind of racist comment, but black people don't ever seem to fucking age!!! CHRIS ROCK is like 40 odd but he could easily pass for 25! WESLEY SNIPES is 50 odd but could pass for early 30's! USHER is about 30 now but looks pretty much the same as he did when he made THE FACULTY 10 years ago! It's cool because I hate it when some of my favourite actors get old, but at least they still LOOK young.

had this ended around the 80 minute mark i'd have given it a 7 since up till then it had been a lot of fun despite the largely bad acting and shoddy script. but it dragged on for another 25 minutes which dragged it down quite a bit. still it's not a bad killer clown flick

DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE

Hey CRONOS I finally finished it last night! This movie doesn't even have the most remote hint of a decent atmosphere (the uninspired cinematography that makes it look like an 80's soap is mostly to blame) and there is zero suspence, basic scares and no intensity whatsoever. The direction is terrible.

The only aspects I liked were NORTH'S crazy, but humorous performance and the cool late 70's/early 80's electronic score.

Also, why did they advertise this movie as UNCUT as if it featured stabbings, impalings, beheadings and mutilation?! It's the most dry steak I've ever chomped upon. Consider me ass raped.

sorry to hear you finally finished it
looks like you pretty much felt exactly the same way i did about it, really is a dire, slow and very uninteresting "slasher" film

TOOLBOX MURDERS ('04) - 8/10
finally decided to get my hands on this and was pleasantly surprised by it. the feel of the film kinda reminded me of TCM2 which is a very good thing IMO, the acting is mostly excellent with some decent kills as well (the deleted gore scenes are sooooo nice though, its a shame they were removed). i only really had a problem with some of the dialogue, there's some stupid lines which seemed to be inserted for possible comic relief, especially one in which a guy is getting killed and says "just kill me already", i just kind of went WTF at that

still it gives me some hope that Hooper might return to his former glory at some point or maybe i'm just hoping for too much

THE SHADOW WARRIORS - 5/10
starts off pretty well but starts going downhill and never stops, numerous retarded plot turns and scenes, some ridiculous fights as well

it also has a shitty ending with a setup for a sequel

THE CALL OF CTHULHU - 6/10
pretty good modern silent flick, interesting plot with some good visuals

THE WIG - 4/10
very slow dull and ridiculous

My Little Eye - 8/10

Wow. I haven't been that impressed by an indy in a LONG time. That was one amazing thrill ride. The characters were likable (Rex in particular), the visuals were great, and the last twenty minutes were jaw dropping. This film is definitely not to be missed. Fan-freaking-tastic.

EDIT: After some thought I decided to bump it up to a 9.

What's funny is that almost every kid in the movie is a good actor and almost every adult in the movie is a terrible actor (whoever was playing Mel is one of the worst fucking actors I've seen). I'm also very confused about some of the events. What the hell was the opening scene with the speedboat? What's with the bizarre flashback during the Angela/Paul kissing scene?

And that ending. Whoa.

That sure was BALLSY.
*rimshot*
I mean, I guess the killer was a real DICK.

Everyone in the audience must've been left HUNG up.

That actor was a real important MEMBER of the cast.

7/10. I'll do parts 2 and 3 too.
I don't know if your joking or not cause those scenes that confused you all connected to the ending.
