Wrong Turn 2ead End

Wow what a great little gem. Was really excited to see it as there were many positive reviews. I had problems with it though, whilst i love cheesy movies i thought the way they handles the reality show was way over the top and i also didnt like henry rollins.....but i dont know who the guy is so dont blame me lol. Terrific action and gore, seriously this movie was theatre standards and beats shit like paradise lost.
7/10

Hostel 2

Again wow......this was sick as hell. I was really effected by that blood bath incident as i adored that character was damn upsettin. The end was a bit anti climatic and stupid but all round a solid sequel which outdid the original for me.
7/10

1408

Great build up, good execution. I fell in love with this movie about 20 minutes into it. Creepy in parts but i think the build up kinda overhyped it. Also what was with samuel l jackson in the fridge? lol wieeeerd. Great movie though.

This is a great film. It's a nice twisted "Alice in Wonderland on huge amounts of acid having dinner with TCM" kind of film! The atmosphere, lighting, characters.....all great. Sure some of it is a little....well....not very good. I think if this had just been straight forward.....it would have been a bad movie...but considering it is SO over the top...it just works!! Never get sick of watching.

Yay! someone gave halloween 5 a good rating.

Its the only sequel apart from h20 that i enjoyed in the whole series. The acting is terrible in parts but to me jamie saves the movie, shes a great little actress and still is.

Joshua ('07) - 8/10
Why you should never have kids.

Witchcraft 13: Blood Of The Chosen - 2/10 (only gets a 2 because some of the dialogue was fucking hilarious)
Seriously how the fuck has this series gone on for so long, I haven't seen any of the previous entries but if this is anything to go by they can't be good (and from what I've heard they aren't). It's sooooo badly made, the editing is crap, the lighting sucks, whoever did the audio should be shot. The direction is shit, the acting is terrible and the script was a complete joke, the stuff the "characters" were coming out with was just ridiculous.

Really fun b-movie from the director of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, with some kool gore scenes.

Halloween 3 2/5 (It's pretty stupid and the acting is horrible but not bad when you are bored to tears)

TCM:The Beginning 3/5

TCM Remake 4.5/5 (I really liked this one, never get sick of it)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 2 5/5 Watched the episodes where Angel went bad and then when Oz first was a werewolf. (I have ALL of the series. One of the best series..EVER! Did that the day before at work)

Hatchet: 2.5/4 stars. A fun horror flick. Lots of blood, boobs, and beasts. Enough comedy and gore to be very entertainig.

Behind the Mask: The rise of Leslie Vernon: 1.5/4 stars. Has some good parts but the last half is pretty lame. No re-watch value for me.

Alien vs. Predator: Requiem - 4/10
Hugely disappointing. Maybe if they'd dropped the completely pointless, only there to interest the teens, cliche teenage characters it could have been kickass since the scenes with the aliens were pretty damn kool.

Earlier spent 6 and a half hours in a cinema, longest I've done yet, saw these awesome flicks:

Basket Case - 9/10
Planet Terror - 9/10
Roadkill - 7/10
Death Proof - 10/10

Overall an awesome way to spend an afternoon/evening

Effects - 6/10
Soso.

Phantom of the Mall:Erics Revenge

I dont know if I liked it or not.

Pros: Ken Foree, a mall in the 80's, some good kills, and The Weasel Pauly Shore.

Cons: Some lame kills, some bad karate, and the story of the movie is really dumb.

2/4 stars.

Halloween - 2007 7/10

I liked it as a whole. I liked Tyler Mane. I liked Malcom McDowell in part of Loomis. I rejoiced seeing Danny Trejo (but, who wouldn't?) I was happy seeing Brad Dourif, sad he was kind of underused. I liked the psychological shutdown of young Michael, and his obsession with masks. I liked Michael essential innocence about people and how the world works. I felt sorry for him when Laurie didn't understand what the picture meant.

I didn't like that the movie tried equate his wretched upbringing to his psychopathy - such conditions does not a pyschopathlogical serial killer make. That's a proven fact. I didn't like the totally lame ass way he escaped - women patients are never housed in the same section as male patients. Never. I didn't like the illogical leap in logic - how the heck could he know who Laurie was? And the ending went on and on; it's just too long.

I'm not going to compare it to the original. I believe remakes and movie readaptions of books and stories should be watched as is to be given a fair shake. Although it did avoid one of my pet peeves about the first one - it avoided Michael driving a car!

Watched Hatchet for the third time, up there as one of my all time favorite slasher/gore flicks, its just a blast to watch from start to finish, violent, funny, jumpy, you name it and it has it and it does it with a love for the genre I havent seen in quite some time, I can only wait for what Adam Green has coming up next (hopefully some Hatchet 2 )

THE ORPHANAGE

Not what iw as expecting AT ALL, but thats a good thing. 8/10

No blood, gore, or any of that. Its very unsettling in its nature, and theres a few parts that actualy made me tense in my seat.

Just a VERY well crafted ghost movie i havent seen the likes of since THE OTHERS and SIXTH SENSE.

Loved the ending.

The Attic - 2/10
It's a shame Mary Lambert has never managed to make anything close to the awesomeness of Pet Sematary.

The Cellar Door - 6/10
Aside from the female lead who was pretty shitty most of the time and too much close up/hand held stuff it was a decent low budget flick.

The Tattooist - 5/10
In Her Mother's Footsteps - 4/10
Razortooth - 2/10
Dead Man's Hand - 3/10

I enjoyed this movie. Its a little slow at times. Its a different kind of vampire movie, which makes it interesting.

I just watched TEEN WITCH. Another 80's flick about a high school student getting special powers. Not as good as Teen Wolf or Once Bitten. 1.5/4 stars.

Black Sheep - 7/10

Black Sheep (2007)

I had this movie on my Netflix queue for a couple of months before I finally bit the bullet and bumped it to the top. I really wish I had done so earlier as it was a hell of a lot of fun.

The story is oddly entertaining and the gore effects are more than adequate in this slapstick, splatter film. For the uninitiated, just imagine that Peter Jackson had filmed a werewolf-inspired, but still firmly grounded in New Zealand culture, horror film back in 1993, but the film canisters had gone missing... until now that is.

The characters are a bit stereotypical, some hilariously so, but the few that matter still come across as appealing enough. There are a couple of cringe inducing moments in the screenplay, but overall they don't detract much from the likability that the movie possesses.

It isn't for everyone, but those that have enjoyed such genre classics as Dead Alive, Bad Taste, or even Sam Raimi's early work, could do much, much worse. A solid 7/10.

Yeah it is. I've only seen a few Full Moon films and most of them I dislike for the same reasons, the acting sucks, the sets and effects aren't very good and it irritated me more than entertained. But if you generally enjoy their films you'll likely get more out of it than me.

Cast A Deadly Spell - 8/10
In an alternate 1940's, everyone uses magic, a detective (Fred Ward) goes in search of a stolen Necronomicon. Really entertaining TV flick, the acting is mostly very good, it's also got some decent effects and fun little creatures running around and tearing shit up. Shame it's not on DVD.

The Initiation - 3/10
Bad acting, boring direction and lame kills... meh.

Hell Night - 5/10

I remember seeing the trailer for this. It was annoying because a ladies voice kept repeating "What have you done to Solange!".
