Just watched Innkeepers too was really really good I thought. There needs to be more movies like this that don't rely on gore alone.

Had a bit of a catch up as I haven't watched many movies over the last couple of years, with a little help from a few drinks:

Black Swan - 5/5
There was a couple of years in the mid nineties where I listened mainly to classical music and Tchaikovsky became my favourite composer. So the setting of Swan Lake really had an impact and damn does Aronofsky know how to make a film. Hands down the best director going around.

Tucker and Dale Vs Evil - 4/5
With all the spoofs around it’s nice to get a film that parodies a genre intelligently. Also Alan Tudyk has been a favorite of mine since Firefly.

House of the Devil – 3/5
Given I grew up on 80’s horror this was a pleasure to watch. The clothes, hair and music brought back some pleasant memories. Actually the main pleasure was watching Jocelin Donahue’s ass. Ti West came to the party, clearly he thought she fit the jeans so well he had the camera follow her around for the majority of the film.

The Killer Inside Me – 4/5
Casey Affleck rocks this amongst other excellent performances. The violence on women is difficult to stomach but overall a top film.

The Expendables – 4/5
Alcohol was kicking in but that didn’t have anything to do with me giggling like a fucking schoolgirl throughout. The scene with Arnie, Sly and Bruce gave me goosebumps and Sly still has impeccable taste is transportation.

Dark Night of The Scarecrow.

One of the most memorable horror films in my collection. The SE DVD is stunning, beautifully cleaned up and the comm track reveals plenty of interesting facts and figures.

Jocelyn Brando, Larry Drake, Tonya Crowe, Charles Durning (in particular) are fantastic under the direction of Frank De Felitta, who later went on to direct The Entity.

10/10

A couple of nights ago I got the itch and I watched THE EXORCIST for like the 37th time. Still creepy as hell in parts, and just wonderfully filmed overall.

Just have to ask: Does countchocula still post around here? Hope an older schmoe could help me out.

Scream - Best horror film of the 90s EASY.

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Fincher. Atmospheric as hell.
