I've got Staring At The Sea also. It's good for chucking on when I can't decide between happy Cure or sad Cure because it covers all the bases. Disintegration is the definitive sad Cure album. It's a five star classic that no respecting fan of good music should be without.

Two great choices, Adam!!

The Talking Heads rule!! The Sand in the Vaseline compilation album is a must own. Right now I'm listening to my Steely Dan Showbiz Kids-The Story of Steely Dan album. And Oingo Boingo anthology. Guess I'm pretty old school. |

Damn, Adam. The B 52's are another one of my favorites. And as great as some of their old stuff is, Cosmic Thing moght be their best album. The Deadbeat Club, Roam, Channel Z, Love Shack etc. are all great tunes. But their old stuff definitely jams also.
My god!!! I just looked at your profile. You were born in 1985?! Cool. I love to see young people appreciating the music of my generation. Streets of fire came out the year before you were born. Definitely a hidden gem. The 80's get trashed alot for their music, but there was some damn good music made then. Cheers to you! Last edited by Grebdron; 10-09-2002 at 04:23 PM.. |

Truer words were never spoken, Grebdron.
![]() STREETS OF FIRE is a great film with an even better soundtrack, and yeah, I find that I enjoy older music more than modern stuff. So far, I'm the only one I know of the students at my school who's even heard of The Ramones. Heathens, all of 'em. And so I don't head off topic :"City of Dreams" by Talking Heads "Slippery People" by Talking Heads "Miss Misery" by Elliott Smith |

"Tiny Dancer" by Elton John.
Now this is a weird one. I fucking hate Elton John (or at least I thought I did). Then one day i'm sitting watching my brand new DVD of Cameron Crowe's brilliant "Almost Famous" and this great fucking song is playing. I had to check the credits at the end to find out who it was. I was kind of taken aback to discover that it was "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John. Fucking ace song and the scene in the movie during which it plays in the background is just one of many great scenes in the movie. So my opinion of Elton John has somewhat changed. It seems he wasn't always shit. |

I was listening to Ashanti's debut album before. It's pretty good and has a lot of catchy songs. It's nothing groundbreaking to the genre but it's still worth listening to.
