The Princess Bride novel

For a going-to-college present, my wonderful girlfriend bought be the novel (written by S. Morgenstern and abridged by one of the best movie writers ever man, William Goldman) The Princess Bride because I love te movie and I told her I'd like to read the book. I'm nearly half way through and I love it even more than the movie. Has anyone else read this?

Absolutely! I bought my girlfriend the book last Christmas, the Anniversary Edition that includes the sequel, "Buttercup's Baby." Outstanding.

A brilliant book. I'm not sure I love it as much as the film (I've watched The Princess Bride more times than any other film) but it's just as funny, and exciting. The Zoo of Death is probably the best part that didn't make the film.

I'd recommend the book to anyone who loves the film

Yep, I read it. It is probably one of the most faithful adaptations of a book to a movie that I've ever seen. Even the dialogue was dead on. And, since I had seen the movie first, I could picture the characters perfectly. The casting was dead on. Great fun for any fan of the movie.
