House of the Dead video game footage is out!

I just got this in my INBOX, thought you guys would be interested:

Hi,

The discussion on your web site and thousands of e-mails convinced him to change the cut of "House of the Dead" - there will be no video game footage in the
movie.

Best regards,

Michael Roesch
Associate Producer
House of the Dead

Here's what German director Uwe Boll had to say about the change:

"I make my movie "House of the Dead" for the Horror
and Video Game fans around the world. In thousands of e-mails they showed me that they don't want Video Game Animation Scenes in the movie and so I changed now the movie! The fans can be happy now! In a DVD version maybe 6 months after the theatrical release I will show my Animation stuff
additional"!

GOOD MOVE UWE!

Great, nice move, i think the scare level would go to hell if they added scenes from the game, essecially if they are trying to stay away from being compared to Resident Evil, because that movie had CGI that was about the same level as a computer game.

I'm glad, That was a really bad idea; It's nice to know that at least some people listen to what the fans want..

Its good to know that what we schmoes say here makes a difference and actually matters! WE can actually change the way a movies gets made! Now if we could only do something about them not making Leprechaun Back in the hood ...

Anyhows good move on the directors part to listen to the fans!

This is cool. The video game footage was a bad idea and would have only worsened the movie. Without animated footage I think this movie looks very good...

Ok, during the movie's action sequences they were going to weave in footage from the video games. So say, someone shoots a gun at a zombie. They would show the real person shooting the gun but then go to a image from the video game for the zombie getting shot. Make sense?

At least that's what I got from the report I read awhile back...

I remembered this thread when I read that the scenes where never cut out! They are still in the movie! Arrrrgh! How incredibly stupid of the director! Seeing video game footage in the middle of an action sequence is just gonna suck the big one! Arrrrght yet again!

Why say they did when they didnt? That totally blows..

Read it and weep people...

Since its a test sceening we're talking about here, I assume they put the video game footage back in to see how it plays out with the crowd. If it will wind up in the final cut that we will all see, that remains to be seen. I sure hope not.

Whoa...just, whoa. This is probably the best news I've heard all day. The "video game in the movie" idea was pretty bad to start with, but Mr. Boll heard the fans and gave them what they wanted. Very cool move, IMHO.

Hey Arrow, if that was a test screening, well it was one heck of a disastrous test! People laughing at the film, and screaming funny and insulting comments at the movie! Not a good sign, thats sad cause I was hoping this one wouldnt suck...

To quote the Creature Corner" article: "The screening I attended was a test screening, meaning audience reaction was gauged and cards handed out."

This bad review doesn't scare me, I'm sure after this test screening Boll will go back in the editing room and fix things. Also , the negative elements mentionned in the review didn't really bother me much. I'm expecting to dig this one on a cheese level if nothing else.

Now that's what I call a "Director" he likes to listen to the fans, he wants to know what they want. I like that.

I guess what they are doing is testing to see if maybe audiences will react in a positive way to the video game scenes spliced in the film.

But that test screaning does still tell us one thing...they are actually toying around with the idea of putting the scenes in the movie.

I just hope who evers in charge comes to their senses.

Good move, adding scenes from the game would have turned this into a walking joke really and would probably turn it into some kind of comedy type thing

I saw a japanese zombie movie called Biozombie and they intercut game shots from house of the dead 1, as a joke and it was really funny. Like the main zombie killer didn't know what to do and then it cut back to him playing house of the dead, and so he started wooping ass and it would cut from him actually killing zombies to scenes from the game, it was funny....

Now if the actual House Of The Dead movie is intending this to actually be funny then kudos to them... BUt I am assuming they are trying to make a "horror" movie and not a "comedy" so it's good they took it out.

God that would have been a very bad move on the directors part.

I saw a test screening of this film a week ago. If Boll is really thinking about changing things, you wouldn't know it. The print seemed final - color corrected, scored, and all the FX were complete.

That said, the film is a complete waste of time. It's like Resident Evil, but without the slick atmosphere, story, and Milla Jovovich
