and went on to say
Quote:
and these will be the last two movies to be made with dimension films michael myers will be laid to rest in the end

That sounds like major bullshit. Dimension has no script for Halloween 9 yet...much less H10.

WHAT!?!?!?! I CANT BELIEVE THIS. I mean, why would they release this so soon? Im not calling you a liar but Im not so sure if this is reliable...but if you say so. Maybe those scripts sent in to Moustapha Akkads office were real.

Did he say anything about the thorn cult!? PLEASE DONT BRING IT BACK! PLEASE!

i dunno how they are gonna pull of the prequel thing...but im getting to excited even though these might just be rumors and if they arent rumors, then the movie itself is probably gonna be 4 or 5 years away. Maybe theyre gonna shoot them back to back then release them at different times...
i dunno but one thing must happen...

THE HALLOWEEN SERIES MUST END WITH A BANG!

(or course all my comments are based on if this is actually true)

I was very aware of the sequels! Where have you guys been! Here's the old news from a few weeks ago:

Some unknown script writer sent in 2 scripts to NightFall Productions. They were Hall9ween: The Birth of Michael Myers and Hall10ween: The Death of Michael Myers. The were both looked over by Moustapha nothing has been mentioned since. Also, the writer sent in TWO FAKE movie posters for the movies:

Their you have it.

Oh, I got it, cool thanks. I had seen the Hall9ween one but not the 10th, it has to be false. John and his G.friend had nothing to do with the Thorn Era in Halloween.

XCoRyX,

I was the one the put that post up, but I didn't say
they were official, hence the question mark at the end of
the heading. No harm no foul though

Anywho, from my understanding, Moustapha had
stated in the past that, and I know this sounds
unrealisitic, that he wanted to go up to Chapter 22
in the Halloween Series. Very weird, even for me
a die hard halloween fan to believe, but it was mentioned
in an older issue of Fangoria, around the time of
the 5th entries release. Whether that has changed or
not, remains to be seen. But mind you, this news comes
from someone at dimension films, and not Moustapha himself.
Chances are, that if Dimension kills Michael off in 10,
Moustapha will find another distributor, for his continuation
of the series.

I'm all for more of the series. Make it an anime,
I'll be there, make it a silent picture circa 1920's,
I'll be there, make it extremely
flawed, I'll be there, so on and so forth.

Thats just my thoughts.
And as I have said in one of the countless
Halloween 8 posts,

"Michael Myers is my daddy,
and when I die, then so can the series."

Now look, I've been a HUGE fan of this incredible series since a VERY young age! My favorite sequel is HALLOWEEN 4 and I even think that HALLOWEEN 6 is enjoyable when you look at it from a certain point of view. I may be ridiculed for this but I thought H20 was an excellent film and sequel. In my opinion, it doesn't ignore the previous sequels, it just neglects to mention them. Now, I was the most excited person in the world when HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION was coming out, many of u remember how I had BRING ON HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION!!!! printed on every one of my posts. But when I saw the film during its first showing on opening day, I was EXTREMELY disappointed in it! Sure I still saw it seven times total at the theater but I still did not like it. I thought the only good elements were the opening 15 minutes, the new version of the main theme (the rest of the score sucked. Where were all the other great classic themes? Couldn't we have at least had Laurie's theme?), Brad Loree, and the 3 minutes that feature three fun kills right in a row! Oh, and yes I even enjoyed that little scene with Busta dressed as Michael. But I couldn't stand Busta for the rest of the movie, the story was cool, but unneeded, **SPOILER*** we didn't get to see Tyra Banks' death***END SPOILER, and the sequel was a waist of film. It didn't go anywhere after the first 15 minutes! Now, not that there was too much wrong with that, because I wouldn't mind a simple sequel thats mostly made for fun and not to move the story on, but it was still a disappointment. Was it fun? Yes, but was it good? No. Hopefully I'll like it after the DVD release.

Now on my view of these two upcoming sequels, I think that the series has alot more juice left if they would only start doing it right. We need the next sequel to advance the story on to the next level. We need Michael after John. I think that HALLOWEEN should not stop at Part 10 because there's so much confusion that would need at least 3 films to clear. Hopefully Sara isn't a family member and she's not in the next film (though I hear she's signed). HALLOWEEN 9 i gladly welcome! I'll get as excited as I did when H20 and RESURRECTION!!! I sure the hell hope that these films get to 22 because I LOVE Michael Myers, but I don;t want Michael to end up like Jason did in Jason X (which I thought almost happened in RESURRECTION) by becoming way too comedic. It's so easy to keep Michael in horror and scary and I thought that Moustapha would not do that to him, but RESURRECTION at certain parts scared the piss outta me in thinking that maybe it's going to happen. If that is going to happen, then I want the series to end. But if Moustapha could keep it to its roots with horror like he had done with 1-H20, then I gladly welcome these films, and hopefully they will find a different distributor to make the next 12. But Moustapha, PLEASE I beg of u to keep Michael the way he is and no more HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION clones!

BRING ON HALLOWEEN 9!!!!!

This isnt true. He said this as a JOKE in the Halloween DVD . Mr. Akkad said," The asked Donald Pleasence, before he died;god bless his soul, when he was going to stop. And he said, Ill stop at 22. So I guess I'll stick with him on that number.*laughs*

So he really doesnt want to take Halloween to number 22 because that is insane..even to me, and im one of the biggest Halloween fans out there.

And, once again I agree with HalloweenShape31 by saying that they should go back to their roots and move the story on. But I dont believe that they should go to 22 or no where near it because I dot want the series run into the ground. But me being me, Ill love and Halloween movie to the fullest.

22 would just be too over the line....i'm up for up to 10 at the most....even i know it shouldnt really go too much further...i just want something better then resurrection as the last entry, they have to make up for the pathetic film resurrection was...such a letdown,i enjoyed jason x way better...i wish they would return to the thorn era,as much as yous all really hate it from what i hear,it would return it to the dark roots it needs to be taken back to....friday the 13th gets the upper hand for casting lesser known teens as well,a thing halloween should still be continuing.

Ok, well thats a relief, even though, I say when I die
then the series can die along with me.
But even so, this news is still coming from
someone at Dimension films, and not Moustapha himself,
so as of right now, I'm taking it with a tiny grain of salt.

Michael Myers is Moustaphas baby, and cash cow,
so even if the tenth part will be the death of Michael Myers,
it would only appear to be from Dimensions point of view.
Moustapha will still have free reign over the movies,
and to do with what he see's fit.

i dont think a prequel would be good for the series. I think they should continue and tie in all of the storylines(4,5,6) but NO THORN CULT! They should end the series like at 9 or 10. I dont want the series to go downhill after that.

Okay, I agree with the 'NO THORN CULT' idea, but they have to find a way to explain Michael being evil on two legs. I'd be really disappointed if they just like, said 'HEY WE'RE IGNORING 4,5, AND 6's PLOTS' because to me, 4 could run well without a Thorn explaination. Even if they so 'Tommy Doyle was wrong.'
